I watched the MNF game and it was chock full of Black Lives Matter sponcership from the players. I'm sure the Proud Boys got upset but it doesn't seem to have impacted the general populations' interest.

Some of the drop off in NBA ratings are due to games being broadcast on weekday afternoons, but the ratings drop goes far beyond that. Hockey is also having the same crappy weekday game times, and their ratings are down substantially. Not down nearly to the degree of the NBA, however.
For the first time ever Nielson is counting out of home viewership, so in theory it should be up, instead it is down.
The nba commish said next season the messaging will be toned down.

They are down, for several reasons............but not for racial and political reasons. Hockey ratings are not down nearly the same amount as pro basketball. Basketball's further dropoff is due to all the race baiting.

Last week, a Harris Poll aimed to get to the root of the issue. The agency reached out to almost 2,000 people and gave them 10 choices to select from on why they are watching less NBA action.
Respondents were permitted to choose more than one answer.
“The league has become too political” ultimately was the top reason why the people surveyed said they were tuning out, capturing 38 percent of the vote.
