Now that's what I call a lot of happy endings every single day!

I don't disagree with you guys about the vaccines, nor getting them.  But it would help the general public if the public health officials weren't dead wrong most of the time.  Might help their credibility a little bit.  Also would help if the lead public health official hadn't been funding Covid development from the start.

Its one thing when you're wrong about a new disease that has not been fully researched and understood.    Thats the big fault the right wing is bellyaching about the CDC.

Its something alltogether different when people who aren't medical professionals undermine the people who are for political reasons....and sell distrust and conspiracy theories about vaccines and crazy alternative medicines.

Dont blame the CDC for ongoing propoganda campaign charactarizing the vaccine as some kind of liberal power grab.   Blame the a-holes who are serving up that shit....especially since they dont buy into themselves.

Just as an addendum -    I have infintiely more respect for the anti-vax radio hosts that died from COVID compared to the likes of Sean Hanniy, Tucker Carlson, and pretty much evey pundit on FOX News.    At least the former subscibed to their own stupidity.

FOX News is killing their audience with fear mongering they dont believe or subscribe to themselves.

It's morally and ethically reprehensible that they're pitching deadly bullshit in order to boost their ratings and make money. One part of me says fine, let the Trumper numbnuts assholes die if they're stupid enough to listen to Mother Tucker et al., but on the other hand, I don't really think that stupidity should be fatal.

I don't disagree with you guys on the vax.  We can meet half way on that.  I got Covid and got pretty sick last Nov and I'm getting vax and continuing unless something comes out very bad about them. (don't believe that will happen)  I also now work for a healthcare company (in Finance mind you) but I am mandated to get vaccine nonetheless.  I think between getting it and the vax, hopefully I'm safer than most now.  We are going to be dealing with this and strains for a LONG LONG time though as well.

My only point is our heath care "experts" have proven themselves complete buffoons.  I work with 60 Drs that will attest to that as well. (most on the left)

Clarification:  Any by proving themselves complete buffoons, a good portion of country is NOT going to listen to them about anything anymore.

I think you're drastically underestimating the difficulties our medical experts (no faux quotation marks) have faced in dealing with the pandemic. I also think that you're not qualified to evaluate or to criticize their efforts.

You see, scientists make hypotheses and deal with incomplete information in making them. What they do is prepare to confirm or modify those hypotheses as additional data become available. They fully realize and acknowledge the provisional nature of their conclusions and are prepared to modify them. The uneducated layman hears them "change their minds" and says hmph, well, these guys are always wrong. What he's really hearing is the evolution and aggregation of data, which leads to findings that often contradict earlier findings.

The experts you so deride came up with multiple highly effective vaccines in record time, as well as lifesaving Covid treatments and medications. Those are not actions of "complete buffoons."

If the doctors you work with truly think that, well, I can only hope that I never find one of them treating me.

Just like one of those Drs hopes they never come accross a teacher like you teaching their kids I'm sure.  They are actually a pretty top end group of Drs so I'm just slightly going to value their opinion here on this topic over a study hall monitor's.  Sorry if that crushes your huge ego.

I'm still waiting for a W-2 where U/C is taken from someone's payroll as a payroll deduction.  Can you just admit you had no idea what you were talking about there?  It is pretty clear to anyone that you didn't.  For someone that values how clear he tries to write things, that was a big swing and miss by you on that one.  Back to study hall for some research on that one......

It's a technical distinction. Yes, there isn't a direct payroll deduction for UI. But as I tried to teach you (and a person whose career is supposedly in finance should be able to comprehend), what employers pay in UI is subtracted directly from their workers' paychecks.

Can you admit that the distinction is purely technical and that you're only ranting about it as an excuse to be an insulting jerkass? I thought not.

And yes, if your doctor gang doesn't value the opinions of the nation's medical experts, they aren't really doctors. Whether you listen to them or not is immaterial.

Lie, deny, deflect - Kevin's playbook.

Point--Kevin.

Well stated.  (And how often do I side with Kevin?)
