Offensive sports nicknames

Why are the left wing crazies only offended by team mascots named after "people of color"?  Saying "people of color" is so PC, by the way, as it certainly proves how woke one is.  (sarcasm)

Why do the crazies not care about:

University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

USC Trogans

West Virginia Mountaineers

New Orleans Saints

Texas A&M Aggies

California Univ of Pennsylvania Vulcans (that would piss off Spock)

Speedway Spark Plugs

Easter Kentucky Colonels

Holy Cross Crusaders

New England Patriots

Michigan State Spartans

Gorden College Fighting Scots

Penn Quakers

Road Island College Anchormen

Boston Celtics

One will notice that most of these nicknames involve white folks.

San Diego padres

LA Angels

Iona college Gaels

Dallas Cowboys!

Artie the Artichoke. [Scottsdale Community College]

Banana Slug. [University of California, Santa Cruz]

Christians should be terribly offended.

How about the Hoopeston Corn Jerkers (an Illinois high school).  Should the farmers be offended?  Someone should be offended................LOL.

All this stuff is Libs making something of nothing.  I suspect that even PJ agrees with me on this subject.

There a difference between a racial slur or unflattering term  and a nickname.   

I suspect the Irish might take umbrage if you changed Norte Dames team to the drunken Irish....and west Virginians might not like having the Mountainers be renamed to the "inbreeders". 

it's not for you to decide what nicknames are collectively offensive to the people they are aimed at.

im not the least bit offended by the term Redskin...but I'm also not a Native American so my opinion doesn't matter

Don, I used to have a Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichoke's sweatshirt.  I spent a night with my Paradise Valley aunt and uncle in about 1985, and told them about how I loved crazy college sports nicknames.  She sent me a sweatshirt.

I have a friend who got his MBA from Santa Cruz........................Banana Slugs................No known preditor.

I never realized that the the Miami nickname was the drunken redskins.  Correct me if I'm incorrect.  There is zero logic in yourr argument.
