You're not going to ever get rid of the algae unless you continuously treat the pool with chemicals.  I think  we all learned that this week.

But what does that have to do with Trump's no-bid contract to one of his friends and donors?     This is your big chance to show everyone what a huge anti-corruption sleuth you are, Tom.

Apparently the work done was/is insufficent and problems exist. Stay tuned for the resolution of this effort. Until then, all of the questions concerning this event are adding up to assume that what has happened  was done on purpose and is giving the whiners something to complain about. Shit happens, everyday, everywhere. Funny, while President Trump attempts to restore Americas buildings and monuments, I don't believe that those complaining about the costs have had nothing to say about ----  WASHINGTON - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner announced that the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Task Force at HUD recovered $1.9 billion of funds misplaced by the Biden administration.

President Trump spent $14m; a savings of $20m

Basic math eludes liberals.

Nevermind the Trump pool isnt in any better shape than Obama's.

I will repeat and put the pertinent parts in bold red for the purposefully obtuse.

One president gave a NO-BID contract to his friend and donor.

Im simply asking if you have any issues with that?   It seems to really make you squirm and want to talk about something else.    Why is that, Tom?

This is the official reasoning -- The Trump administration justified the "no-bid" contracts for the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool by citing an emergency exemption intended to bypass normal competitive bidding. Officials argued the renovations were urgently needed to complete the project in time for America's 250th birthday celebrations. The contracts were awarded directly to two companies with ties to the President:Painting and Waterproofing: A $6.9 million contract (which later ballooned to over $13 million) was awarded to Atlantic Industrial Coatings, a firm Trump stated had previously done work on his Virginia golf course.Water Purification: A $1.7 million no-bid contract was given to Greenwater Services, owned by a longtime Trump donor and Mar-a-Lago neighbor.Critics and preservationists have challenged the use of the "urgency" exemption, arguing that it was intended for true emergencies (like a natural disaster) rather than a planned aesthetic overhaul. They contend this process reduced oversight, contributing to significantly escalating costs and environmental issues, such as severe algae blooms. The National Park Service defended the process by citing tight deadlines and the highly specialized nature of the purification technology. White House representatives also stated that the selection process was managed entirely by the Department of the Interior rather than the White House.

Wow, I'd love to be the contractor on your house. "Hey, I saved you $20 milion!" "But I paid $14 million to have it painted, and the paint peeling after a week!" "Well, you get what you pay for, but I didn't vote for Obama."

Tom, "OK!"

Seriously, no morals or ethics, how do you live with yourself?

I've only been on this forum for maybe 2 years, and I'm completely amazed at the cowardice, lack of ethics/morals, and critical thinking skills of relatively normal people. I've learned that MAGA is worse than I ever thought possible.

So the Turd didn't realize that the 250th anniversary celebrations were coming...back in January 2025, when he oozed back into the Oval Office? He just realized that NOW? Those renovations wouldn't have been "urgently needed" now if they had been prepared a year ago. But the Turd has been too busy creating monuments to himself and starting wars.
