Oil price fall speculative, to hit $140 by year-end -Andurand

Ford Motor said Thursday its electric vehicle business lost $2.1 billion last year on an operating basis,

The Detroit automaker expects 2023 to unfold along similar lines, forecasting an adjusted loss of $3 billion for its EV unit,

Those 2022 Model e losses more than doubled unit losses from 2021, as the company continues to ramp up EV production.

So what? Ford executives, who are obviously much smarter than you, are ramping up EV production for a very good reason..

You're the one who pointed out that EVs are still a small part of the market. So they haven't reached the point where economies of scale come into play. Yet.

Stupid Tommie-poo.

So what? Ford executives, who are obviously much smarter

Isn't Ford the same company that needed a Fed bailout due to its poor business practices?  EVs lost $1b in 21, $2b in 22 & are projecting a $3b loss in 23.  They are going the wrong way

We get  $9.3b (70%) out of $13b in lithium batteries from china.  No other country does more than $1.3b,  We are totally dependent on biden's chinese friends.

The biden gang just eliminated another 560k acres from lithium mining to help their chinese friends

We can get lithium from several other sources. We're not "dependent" on China for lithium. And your Biden-hatred isn't rational.

Your opinion is meaningless. Stupid Tommie-poo.

We can get lithium from several other sources. We're not "dependent" on China for lithium.

Kevin doesn't understand that there is a difference between the lithium market & the lithium battery market which China dominates.

According to Statista.

China dominated the world's lithium-ion manufacturing market in 2021. That year, China produced some 79 percent of all lithium-ion batteries that entered the global market.

Other than China the rest of the market is limited

Stupid Tommie-poo complains about lithium supply. Then, when schooled, he claims that lithium batteries aren't made with lithium after all. Maybe Silly Putty?

If China makes lithium batteries, we'll buy them from China. That's just one of tens of thousands of commodities we import. It's called "trade." And if it gets too expensive to buy them from China, we'll buy them elsewhere and/or manufacture them ourselves.

Stupid Tommie-poo.

Then, when schooled, he claims that lithium batteries aren't made with lithium after all.

kevin showing his 3rd grade reading skills again; I never said the above.

I pointed out that lithium supply & lithium battery production are 2 different things.

And if it gets too expensive to buy them from China, we'll buy them elsewhere and/or manufacture them ourselves.

China has a 79% market share; we are stuck having to buy from them.  The production of the rest of the world combined is less than what we consume. In addition, we just can't quickly make it ourselves as it takes at least 5 years to plan and build a battery plant; assuming environmental groups don't get involved.

So China can use this leverage in international relations.  For example they could use this leverage to withhold batteries if the US decides to defend Taiwan if China was to invade.

So you think we would throw Taiwan in the toilet because we're trembling at the thought of no more Chinese batteries? Maybe that's what you'd do, because you're an idiot. And you think China would go ahead and invade Taiwan, confident that the threat of "no more batteries" would keep us from objecting? The Chinese aren't as stupid as you are.

Even assuming your "79% market share" is a real number, that''s 21% of the market that isn't China. So even if we couldn't buy it from them for some reason, there would still be other sources. You have this bizarre fixation with China. AND..."market" isn't the same as supply. Supply can be and is being expanded. And yeah, this is where you bleat about Biden supposedly cutting off lithium production everywhere--another stupid Tommie-poo gross exaggeration.

But you know what, stupid Tommie-poo? You're fixated and obsessed, and I can't convince you with logic or facts. I school you again and again, and you keep bleating the same asinine crap. So...this pointless conversation is over. Believe what you want. Wallow in your obsessions.

And we're going to have electric cars while you slowly crumble away.

So you think we would throw Taiwan in the toilet

kevin has the reading comprehension of a 3rd grader.  Never said that.  I used Taiwan as an example of the leverage that China has in regards to lithium batteries.

Even assuming your "79% market share" is a real number, that''s 21% of the market that isn't China.

I gave you the source, you can check it.  The balance of the international market not controlled by China is insufficent to meet our needs & there are other countries that want lithium batteries.

fixation with China. AND..."market" isn't the same as supply. Supply can be and is being expanded.

You have no idea what you are talking about & no knowledge of how markets works  China controls the lithium battery market, which is different than mining lithium.  Just because a country mines lithium that doesn't mean they have the ability to make batteries.  China has that ability.  I already pointed out that it takes at least 10 years to build a mine & 5 years to build a lithium battery factory.

And yeah, this is where you bleat about Biden supposedly cutting off lithium production everywhere

The biden gang is cutting off mining.  Actions in the Dakotas & Nevada speak volumes.  By denying the facts you show how ignorant you are.

Your new line when you have nothing to say is say "I schooled you", but you never produce any facts to back up the statement

And yet-https://fortune.com/2023/01/13/biden-lithium-mine-nevada-700-million-loan-electric-vehicles/

''A Nevada lithium mine that would be only the second in the US is getting backing from the Biden administration as it seeks to boost the domestic supply of the critical mineral needed to make electric vehicle batteries.''
