On the the deck at my brother's place in Asheville, NC

Picture #1.  Guess which one is my youngest.  In Asheville, NC.

Picture #2.  Both boys with me at my brother's place near Asheville.

Picture #3.  I'm drinking Bourbon, but my youngest is drinking the "Style" in this picture.  You can't see the balance of the vista, but my bro has a 150 degree wide view.  My boy wished that he had his gun, as turkeys showed up each day in the small grass clearing.  Not really............it's against the law.

I still call both "Shorty", but the bastards are 6' 3", 6' 2.5", and I'm 6'2".  The only guy that I've met from this forum is PJ, and he's taller than me.  Another bastard!

Pictures from November, 2019.

Is that you in the blue shirt?  If so, you favor Tom Selleck, which is a compliment IMO.

I love Asheville!  Our family has reunions at Lake Junaluska, and a trip to the Biltmore is always a treat.  Where I first tasted Reisling wine.  Their Reisling was outstanding, which is not the case just anywhere.

Oh, hell no.  My youngest is standing in front of Tom Selleck.  I'm 61 years old!  My youngest is 26, and my oldest is 28 (on the deck together).

It's new for us going there as my brother and sis-in-law moved into the new joint only a year ago.

Alright, what is the trick to paste in pictures?  A few worked, and now I can't do it again.

Below with some great old friends.  I'm on the right, the lady next to me I've known for since 1972, the guy on the bottom since 1963, the guy on the top since 1961, and the lady on the left since 1965.  There might have been some alcohol flowing???  I was to be on our annual commuter train pub crawl with these four and 60 others on June 13, but the beer virus messed that up.  The pictured group currently reside in Chicago's NW suburbs (2), Washington DC, Flagstaff, AZ, and Indianapolis (me), and we are still lucky enough to see each other regularly.  The pub crawl is one of many good excuses.

I thought if I posted some pictures, possibly Kevin would have a little more thought before making certain comments, by putting a person behind the keyboard.  We'll see.

PJ and I have met on four occasions over the years I believe for cocktails/dinner.  The first time was in about 2008, and the last in 2016.  The last time I owed him a drink for some online bet, but I don't believe that he would let me pay off.  PJ can vouch that I'm not an evil person, and I can do the same for him.

Diego, do the picture from my brother's deck remind you of home?

They do, indeed.

Poor old DonDiego and teechur reside on the southern edge of Kingsport, Tennessee on a ridge with a full 180-degree view from east-to west.

Boilerman's mountains are on DonDiego's southern horizon.  And Asheville is only a 90-minute drive on a slightly wiggly I-26.

Beautiful pics...and a beautiful family.

I was there last year.    Love the restaurant scene downtown.    I didn't go for the Vanderbuilt tour because it was like $100 or something....so I ended up going to their winery instead (and spent much more than $100 there).

It seems like a great place to retire - the only negative being a far drive to the closest major airport.

Oh, and yes, Boilerman is a very nice fellow in person.   And he can drink me under the table =)

I've considered what would occur should there be a gathering of Kitchen Sink posters.  Kitchen Sink posters only, (to facilitate social distancing, LOL).   Name tages mandatory.  Call it a Red Face Reunion, as people come face to face with those whom they have spoken to/spoken of in unpleasant terms.

Great photo, Boilerman.  Thanks.  To have friends through the years is a blessing.

I agree, Candy, that should such a gathering take place, our Trumpers might prove to be human in many aspects, and not as stupid or evil as their postings would suggest. People have different personae on the internet than in face-to-face interactions.

In personal casual encounters with Trumpers, it's usually only a few minutes until I'm getting screamed at for being a radical socialist liberal snowflake who doesn't love our dear President Trump, the way any patriotic American does. Such encounters are often with relatives, many of whom live in Trump Land.

I don't know whether screaming Trump propaganda on the internet makes people more or less repulsive in real life. My guess is the latter, as forums, chat rooms, etc. serve as outlets for people's darkest impulses. Sorta like marching in torchlight parades.
