Rio Suites

With the $40 resort fee at the RIO, the small savings on the base room rates over the budget properties on the Strip and downtown is going to be exceeded by increased daily transportation costs for rideshares/taxi/rental/parking fees. I can't imagine the average 29 year-old would find the next door Gold Coast appealing leaving the Palms as the only place for him to hang out with people his age within walking distance.

If my first experience in Vegas was at the RIO in its current condition, I'd never come back.

I'd agree with Mark on all of what he just wrote above.

Kevin, even in my 50s I primarily go to Vegas to party. While in Vegas I drink like a fish and smoke like a dragon. I do legal drugs, chase women ect. IMO there isn't a better place in the US for doing so. If I were a 29 year old, the first thing I would do when arriving in Vegas is ...

Well Mark, you have just set yourself up for a verbal lambasting from Lewis for disagreeing with his "ONLY " reason to visit Vegas is to gamble nonsense. Enjoy while you reap the whirlwind for stating your opinion.

I agree that Rio would not be my suggestion to my boy, but it's booked, it's paid for, and it can't be changed.  At this point, I'm looking for any suggestions to mitigate his poor choice.  Best tower, ect???  He drinks like his old man, and will not have a rental car.

I suggest that he should - (1) check out the Gold Coast and Palms,( which he can walk to) - (2) take an uber to Downtown for a day- (3)  uber to the mid Strip and do a walking tour for a day, and for a real sample of what Vegas has to offer- (4) uber to the South Point for a day. It will cost some $ for transportation but he will get a chance to sample most of what Vegas is about. Doing so, he will have a better idea of where he would like to stay for future trips.

The Rio has been shit for more than 15 years. Food sucks, rooms dated and worn, the slots are tight, the table games are thinking they're Strip worthy and the CW's are scarce.

Honestly, I would cut my losses and bail on the RIO. Eventhough, he would have to eat the room, staying at the D, Excal, 4 Queens would probably save him some coin because he could eliminate all the transportation costs he is looking at.

Otherwise, I'd tell him to plan on spending a lot of time at the Palms. I'd also doucment all the problems with the shit room and ask for the resort fee to be waived at checkout.  On the upside the hookers that work there are probably bargain priced 😂

Thanks Captain Obvious!

At least you tried with a post about something not Trump related or politics-related.  A for effort for the dummy!

You're the one who thinks that opinions that differ from yours are "LIES." You're the one who screams at people, calls them liars, and says they're destroying the country--for expressing opinions that you don't like.

I believe that any sane person reading yours and my postings knows that you are the one who fits the description you post in the above posting.  The ONLY thing you said that is true is the part about "destroying the country" - which is EXACTLY what your President brain dead Biden is doing.
