According to kaiser there are 1 million nursing home patients in the US. 100,000 are in NY. There are an estimated 29,000 nursing home deaths, of which almost 5,000 are from NY.
Subtract out NY, there are 900,000 nursing home patients with 24,000 dead. That comes out to 2.7%. NY with 5,000 dead out of 100,000 works out to 5%, almost double. The 5,000 dead exceed the total deaths in
Texas, Florida & is close to the total in California. Those states all have a larger population that NY
