Alito rejected precedent for the opinion of a jurist that sentaced two women to death for witchcraft and who believed a man has the right to rape his wife.

The cases that Alito deemed bad law are the underpinnings of legalized interracial marriage, birth control, gay marriage and a bunch of other stuff.
They won't be able to sneak that one through without massive blowback. For that matter, their misogynist anti-abortion crusade, even if they go through with it, will cost the RepubliQ BIG time.
Conservitards bleat about the eeeeeevils of "big gummint," but they sure love the idea of the government telling people what they can and can't do with their private lives. What's the word for that...hypocrisy?

The only difference between a girlfriend and a wife in your kind of situation is that a wife can legally loot everything you have, whereas a girlfriend would have to commit grand larceny to do that. So why pave the way?

In a lot of states if you have been in a long term relationship with your GF she can loot you too.

That, in fact, is the acid test to find out whether she's serious. Tell her not only do you not want to get married, you don't want to commingle your finances or assets.
If the next thing you see isn't a cloud of dust, like in a Road Runner cartoon, you'll know the relationship is stable. Otherwise, not so much.
