So who wants to bet on the mid-term elections?

Trust me, for those to whom this wager is offered, leaving this site forever would be unbearable. I think MP meant the site in its entirety, though, not just the Sink.

Hamilton vs. Jefferson was/is a valid debate between two reasonable points of view. The current debate, democracy vs. the RepubliQ, is not. You can take comfort that it won't last anything close to 230 years, though.

I think we can all agree that Jefferson was a much better rapper.

And he founded Jefferson Airplane, which had a lot more cool music than "Hamilton."

Well, I can't really argue with your first sentence.

And yeah, I'm referring to just the Sink and not the other LVA forums. I originally intended the bet to be for one proposition or the other, but what the hell, both have to come true for me to win. So we're on.

And I have a sneaky suspicion that you may be taking this bet in the hopes that YOU will waste no more time hanging around here. Maybe me too.

@MP...Your sneaky suspicion grasped my main point, if there was one. Deal.

I didn't say they didn't. They had fundamentally opposing views, but I think each of those views had validity. Hamilton pretty much won the war, though he lost some battles. And yeah, the "big powerful centralized government" vs. "limited decentralized government" debate rages on. The US went Hamiltonian; Canada went Jeffersonian.

I'm not betting either way, because I don't really want any of our resident conservitards to leave, any more than a skeet shooter wants to stop clay pigeons being fired into the air.

@Kevin..Yeah..why do anything that would potentially reduce your number of targets / prey? Honest response, that.

There might be yet another corny point to the Hamilton vs Jefferson divide. In spite of the differences between them and their disparate arguments / stances, these two old bastards and their conflicting efforts

necessarily contributed to our founding as a nation with it's inherent flaws and arguments. There's no way around that. Those and other evolving arguments obviously rage on today. I don't know whether to profusely thank them or just mail any of their remaining ancestors a dead animal.

Most often, honestly, it's the former of those two options.

Enjoy yourselves, fellas..
