Socrates Rightfully Stated - as Seen Today With DemocRATs

Total bullshit to attribute a made-up quote supporting your personal political views to one of the great thinkers.  Worse bullshit to try to rationalize it.

Well, Mr. Know-It-AlL -- I copied and posted the original message in my original post, unknowingly not realizing that the person that the quote was ascribed to was incorrect. This I have stated before. But, the CONTENT of the quote - whomever made it - is 100% correct today. -- Now, try to "rationalize" what I have said here for the 2nd time in your hard head.

It's someone's opinion, which by definition, can't be correct or incorrect. You have this childish habit of labeling all opinions you happen to agree with as "the truthful facts" or some other such nonsense.

It would be intellectually honest to say "I agree with this" and not "This is 100% correct and anyone who disagrees with me is a LIAR LIAR LIAR and delusional and obtuse and has TDS TDS TDS." Why not let us decide?

And despite your weaseling--copying and pasting a misattributed quotation is a lie.

You lied

LIAR LIAR LIAR LIAR LIAR!

I don't think David lied, that would imply that he knew that the quote wasn't from Socrates but thus attributed it anyway.  I think it speaks more for his inability to critically analyze what he reads.  Does that really look like something that a philosopher from ancient Greece would say?

And David, I'm far from a know-it-all, I keep an open mind, consider the sources of my information and am comfortable with changing my opinion if I'm convinced that I need to do so.  Can you say that?

As had been said, only a complete idiot with no knowledge of history whatsoever would believe that Socrates said that, and David isn't that stupid/ignorant. His response is telling: he doesn't give a shit that the originator falsely attributed his own writing to Socrates. Obviously, it was a childish attempt by the writer to validate his own words.

David's critical analysis begins and ends thusly: will this help me own the libs? Will it help me to start arguments? Most of us try to consider the veracity of our sources. David cares only about their hostility.

I don't think he intentionally lied either. As you say, I just think he lacks critical thinking skills. Combine that with a bit of stubbornness and........

A bit? Like Trump is a bit narcissistic? Or Farmer Fred's pigs are a bit smelly?

I disagree...I believe he has critical thinking skills. I just think he wads them up and tosses them in the trash can when he comes here. You see, you give him too much credit; you still think he comes here to actually discuss things. He doesn't. He comes here to kindle arguments and revel in name-calling and insulting.

I don't think that the real individual behind the David Miller contrived persona is even particularly MAGA or a Trump-licker. It's just a facade, calculated to be the most offensive and disruptive possible.

There are indeed elements of sickness that cross over from the human (to use the term loosely) to the persona, like the compulsion to speak in pompous tones and respond to any criticism with a "counterattack." Those are in fact core personality traits of "David Miller"'s Dear Leader, but in this instance, it's coincidental. David Miller is an asshole because he was constructed to be. The person behind him is also an asshole, but inherently so.

I don't buy it, Kevin, I think David is pretty stupid.  When have you ever seen a cogent argument from him?  His responses never really go beyond "you're obtuse" or "HAHAHAHAHAHA," and he very rarely, if ever, posts any original content, it's always things that he's copied and pasted from FB or Newsmax.  I think that he truly thinks that Trump is the greatest President ever and it's too easy to think no further.  Massive confirmation bias, hellastubborn.  I don't think there's anything more complex than that.

I've kind of vacillated on that. At times, on other LVA forums, I've seen posts of his that were coherent and even offered interesting observations or good advice. And tellingly--they were civil and he didn't attack or insult anybody. So he actually does know how to behave. That he doesn't bother to act decently in the Sink, even though he could, tells me that his loathesomeness and hostility are deliberate rather than inherent.

And yes, his ridiculously rabid and absolute support for Trump is idiotic--so much so that I think it's contrived. So maybe he can tell us: is "David Miller" an artificial stupid asshole or a real stupid asshole? Inquiring minds want to know!
