Something to think about and pay attention to..

I will give David some credit on this issue. Even though he hasn't found fault in Turmp's woefully inadequate response, he has taken the overall issue seriously since the start. Which isn't the case for a lot of Trump supporters.

I would similarly extend him some minimal respect if he would stifle his continual urge to post a screaming, insulting diatribe on every single solitary thread.

I agree that it's unusual that he's actually supplying some semi-thoughtful content. Though he's painfully limited in what he's able to say or discuss, usually confined to posting links to alt-right propaganda, usually all he does is scream. He has a hard-on for me and every day, he shares his penetrating insights that he hates me and that I'm supposedly stupid for disagreeing with him. He thinks that all his constant shit-flow means something. The vast majority of the time, he just posts stupid cartoons or plagiarizes other people's posts.

So if he actually had the verbal skills to say anything worthwhile, and that was something other than fawning support of Trump, and he could do that without insulting anyone, I for one would welcome that. Ain't never, ever, ever gonna happen, though. He is no more capable of simply conversing without being insulting and nasty than my dog is capable of not farting.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days/weeks in Italy as the total quarantine starts to effect peoples ability to pay for things, buy suplies etc...will the social fabric collapse, will people revolt? What will the government do then?

Do you actually believe the twisted shit you post? You are the one who cannot post anything without bashing anyone else who disagrees with the insanity you spew. This category of the LVA forums used to be a site for sane, thoughtful, respectful discussions BEFORE you infested it with your foul mouthed and idiotic rhetoric.

There's precedent--in 1918, a lot of people in Italy died of the flu, everything pretty much ground to a halt, but their society remained intact and after they buried their dead, they soldiered on.

I think the ability of the average person to survive extended isolation is greater than it was 100 years ago. People are overall wealthier, there are more support networks, and so forth.

I don't see any kind of revolt, because what would the people be revolting against?

Fear and hunger. They didn't have social media in 1918.

Yeah, but I doubt that many Italians were unaware of the threat of the flu in 1918. Word spreads quickly, even in premodern societies. What would anyone trying to incite social unrest hope to accomplish, then or now? That would make things more dangerous, not less.

  Think about it...

Today Italy imposed even strickter restrictions on its people. Nothing non essential is allowed open except grocery stores. Social unrest will happen when people run out of money to purchase said food because they dont have a paycheck. Socail unrest when rumors swirll that the grocery stores are running out of food.  Social unrest will happen when they cant get their heating oil delivered because of illness. Social unrest will happen when when healthy people who have no symptoms get tired of being couped up for no reason. Social unrest will happen when the people are not allowed to travel to visit loved ones who are Ill. Theres a lot of reasons for social unrest, visit a Cosco and watch people fight over toilet paper if you want to see how little it takes.

It's possible. As is the entire population turning into zombies and swimming to Greece.
