Stupidity kills

Went to McDonald's for breakfast. The guy at the window had a glove on his left hand ONLY. I then watched in horror as he stuck his fingers INSIDE my drink cup to hold it while it was being filled---using his ungloved right hand, of course.

Then I went to the store. A woman with a teenage son and a young daughter preceded me into the store. The woman took a couple of sanitary wipes and cleansed her hands and the shopping cart. Her small daughter didn't even notice, and the teenaged boy just stared ahead blankly. No problem, I thought, he's not going to touch anything!!

I've seen people out walking, and everybody is practicing social distancing, EXCEPT...happy little chattering groups of adolescents and preteens.

I know teenagers are invulnerable and immortal, but they can still infect other people.

Mom didn't want to trouble the little darlings.   What a shame, a good teaching moment lost.

Kev, right there at McD's you could have told the person at the window you need to see the manager before you drive off (or pull around, get out of the care...arrggghh).  Then kindly tell him/her what you saw Michael Jackson do and request a do over on your drink.   Easy for me to say, I'd have probably driven off in a huff, but that's the only way things get corrected (for the next guy or for you the next time).

Believe me, I wanted to. But there were at least five cars behind me, and I didn't want to slow down everyone's breakfast.

I called them later. I got the manager, who didn't sound like the brightest bulb in the chandelier, and she basically dismissed what I told her. I ain't going back to THAT place!

Tampa Bay area church packed despite local orders to stay home

All of these people should be moved to the back of the line when thye are rationing out ventilators.   Especially the pastor.

How arrogant of that pastor.

Our pastor made the hard decision to shut everything down over two weeks ago.  Our congregation is small and we could have spread out pretty well in our sanctuary, and several of us had 'suggestions' for maintaining distance at certain functions, etc,, but our pastor took the high road and said we weren't taking a chance.  He was right.  Problem is that when "two or more are gathered" it becomes human nature to not pay attention to what is happening next to you, follow restrictions, etc.

Kevin, you did all you could.  So right, never go back.  And if you run out of things to do, send a letter to somebody high up at McD's.

Does Kevin know the likelihood of the corona beer virus living on a latex glove versus skin?

Beer virus?

As for how long the virus can survive on various surfaces, there's pretty much no chemically neutral surface where it can't survive for at least a couple of hours, and on many surfaces, it's more like an entire day.

Sanitize!

"Beer virus" was a joke.  My point was, however, was the horror of him putting his ungloved finger inside of your cup.  I suspect that the virus lives longer on a latex glove than it does a bare finger.
