I read: ISIS-K is the one to worry about. There is no love lost between Taliban and ISIS-K. ISIS-K was responsible for one of the bombings the other day.
Somebody research this on a credible site and report back. I have no dog in the fight.
Thanks.

I've read that ISIS-K thinks the Taliban is too moderate. Sort of like how Q-Anon thinks the Republican party is too soft on the liberals, etc.
ISIS and its bastard child, ISIS-K, never has had any interest in governance, other than driving around waving machine guns and forcing everyone to do their bidding. The Taliban realized that when it previously ruled Afghanistan, they were incompetent in civil governance and lost any support they might have obtained from the people. They've shifted to a more pragmatic approach. That makes them betrayers of the cause in ISIS's eyes.
ISIS-K is furious at the idea of the Taliban cooperating with the US. Analyses of the situation indicate that the bombing was counterproductive for them in that it made the US and the Taliban if not exactly allies, united in a common goal. Both wanted the evacuation to proceed smoothly.
The situation in the Middle East is chaotic, just as it has been ever since the Romans left. There are nuances and subtleties; nothing is black or white. To dismiss everyone there as terrorists a la David Miller is simplistic, inaccurate, and counterproductive--not to mention racist.
The info in the above first three paragraphs, I gleaned from the New York Times and the Washington Post. I can't provide links, as they're both behind a paywall (I subscribe online).
