Teacher cast her vote for Trump now regrets it.

Kevin Lewis inquires: "Does he believe that Donald Trump is MORE trustworthy than Hillary Clinton?"

Poor old DonDiego answers: "Yes."

But there have been lots of analyses of this sorta question: Who's the bigger liar The Hillary or President Trump ?

Why, here's one now: Clinton's Deceptions Are Worse Than Trump's

Both of the 2 Republican presidents who took office in the 21st Century did so with  fewer votes than their opponent.     Hillary was just the latest victim of that undemocratic dynamic.   And thats the real scandal.

As for the teacher who changed her mind?  She's not alone.    There's lots of people who voted for Trump last time that are now voting for Biden...or simply leaving the ballot blank.   I haven't met a single Hillary voter from 2016 that is switching sides in 2020.   Have you?   And considering she won the popular vote by 6 million  I'd say that does not bode well for President Brietbart.

Good luck in November.

Ahh, . . . and yet again the wisdom of the Founding Fathers is demonstrated; . . . why, it's almost like they  knew  someone like The Hillary would run some day.

Oh !  It could be even better than that !

. . . . . quote . . . . .

. . . . . . .  it is perfectly constitutional for a state legislature to scrap statewide elections for president and appoint electors itself. It would also be constitutional for a state legislature to disregard the winner of the statewide vote and assign electors to the loser. And because the Constitution grants legislatures the authority to pick electors this way, Congress cannot stop them.

Due in part to partisan gerrymandering, Republicans control the legislatures of 28 states. Collectively, these states have 294 electoral votes. Trump himself could not cancel the entire presidential election. But he could ask these GOP-dominated legislatures to cancel their statewide presidential elections and assign their electors to him. It’s doubtful that we will face this situation in November. But imagine a worst-case scenario: The election is approaching, and the coronavirus remains rampant in our communities. States are unsure whether they have the personnel and resources to hold an election. Congress has failed to mandate no-excuse absentee balloting, and many states have declined to implement it. Or the postal service is so hard hit that it cannot reliably carry ballots to and from voters’ residences. It’s not difficult to envision Trump’s allies in state legislatures assigning their states’ electoral votes to the president, insisting that these dire circumstances justify pulling a constitutional fire alarm.

. . . . . endquote . . . . .

And did they anticipate something far worse--someone like The Donald running?

Does DonDiego consider this a desirable scenario--Republican partisan state legislators effectively reversing the votes of the people in their states?

Sounds like the beginning of a fascist dictatorship and the end of a democracy to me. If DonDiego is titillated by this possibility, shame on him. If DonDiego is appalled by this possibility, let me remind him that he is complicit in bringing it about.

the authors of apartheid in South Africa must've been worried about Hillary too.    Same dynamic.

In any event, its just a good piece of trivia to remember the next time your friendly neighborhood conservative wants to complain about affirmative action.    Affirmative action is the only way Republicans win national elections in the 21st century.

For the record, . . . . poor old DonDiego and, probably, Slate both opine the scenarios which poor old DonDiego documented above is unlikely and would indeed be most undesireable.

But the US Constitution is the ultimate Law-of-the-Land,  And strange things could happen.

What poor old DonDiego hopes for is a clean, legal election with adherence to the Constitution and with a definitive winner based upon the majority of citizens' votes and a majority in the Electoral College..

DonDiego's next to favorite result would be an election in which the winner is determined by adherence to the Constitutionally specified procedures, . . . whether that is the candidate with the most votes or not.

I would expect poor old DonDiego, with his avowed respect for the Constitution, to be appalled and horrified at how the man he voted for treats it like his personal snot rag.

I very much doubt that Hillary would have had such a fundamental disrespect for the laws of our nation.

I would also point out that the fair and lawful election that DonDiego wishes for is the opposite of the kind of election Donald Trump wants. Surely he is aware of Trump and the Republican party's tireless ongoing efforts to prevent people from voting.
