I'm never surprised when "conservatives" are bigots and racists. But, let me get this straight: "conservatives" now want the government--rather than parents and the children's' doctors--to decide what medical care a child needs? How is this small government, freedom-loving, keep-the-gov'ment-out-of-my-life "conservatism"?
That's because for the majority of Republicans it is not about conservatism any more. It's about taking total control of everything in a fascist manner. We make fun of the idiot MAGAs but the truth is the establishment Republicans are driving this fascist takeover.
They know that the demographics no longer favor them, so if they don't create rules and laws that cement them into power without opposition they're going to lose power and likely not have much of a chance of gaining it back for several generations. They don't like Trump but they sure like what he is selling.

Not only that--consider how much "big government" would be needed to enforce a nationwide abortion ban! Dozens of womens' prisons. A national pregnancy registry. Abortion courts.

This is not a health issue. I know it and you know it. No one's going to get sick or die because a parent's freakish gender bending ways aren't inflicted on a child.
No, parents should not be allowed to administer life changing puberty blockers and such to their children. Parents should not allowed to arrange surgery for castration. Such decisions should only be the person getting the drug or procedure once that person has become an adult.
