It's March. And the temperature in Vegas is predicted to reach 94 degrees. In March.
Last June, the temperature in Portland hit 116 for three days in a row. 116 degrees. In Portland.
We're in for record heat waves again this summer, and it's all getting well past the point where it's just an inconvenience. Now, that record heat is killing people. I can only imagine what Vegas will be like in July if it's 94 degrees now.
I feel kinda sorry for all the people who came rushing into Vegas and bought houses at what were relatively bargain prices (now, not so much). They thought they'd found a way to escape rising housing costs. But wait until they get cooked alive next summer, they have to hide inside all day with the AC on "MAX," and the electric bill arrives. Not exactly a desert paradise after all.
As you're panting and sweating this summer, be sure to thank all the politicians and pundits who've been telling us for decades that climate change isn't real and we shouldn't do anything about it.
