I was at an coatings industry meeting six years ago in Minneapolis, and met a gentleman from Sausalito, CA. I visited there once in the early 1990's, so I had a feel for what it was like then. We talked about what 3 BR 1900 sq ft, car port, 70 year old, well maintained home would cost on the side of the mountain. After discussing how many millions, I mentioned how the homes higher up the hill must be more expensive due to the better view. He said that views are all similar, but the houses higher up are more expensive because they are far more isolated from the homeless, their drugs, crime, camps, and needles.
I have one quite Liberal brother. He fully supported the vagrants in Portland taking over several Portland city blocks a couple years back. On the other hand, he lives in an exclusive neighborhood just outside of Asheville, NC with houses running from $1.5 - $3 million. He's on the homeowners association board, and he and others aggressively worked with the mayor, and the police chief to assure high school kids were prevented from parking on their cul-de-sac to watch summer sunsets. After all, they occasionally blocked driveways, and sometimes left beer cans. Liberals never recognize their magnificent double standards and hypocricy.
So your new friend, who had no knowledge or expertise re the local real estate market, offered you his opinion, and because it sounded good to you, you swallowed it whole. You'll believe anything if it sounds good to you.
The real reason the higher-elevation homes in Sausalito are more expensive is that they have much better access to Hwy 101, which runs along a ridge overlooking the city, and thus, commutes to San Francisco are much shorter.
No city blocks in Portland were ever "taken over" by anyone.
You're a nonsense-spouting idiot, Boiler.

And this idiot, who couldn't possibly know one way or the other (does he patrol SF daily?) posts some nonsense on his idiot website/YouTube, and you believe him implicitly, because it looks good to you.
Stupid, stupid, stupid nonsense-swallowing Tommie-poo.
