"The Democratic super PAC Priorities USA Action has been running an ad falsely suggesting President Donald Trump called the coronavirus outbreak a “hoax.”"

"Trump did use the word “hoax” but his full comments, and subsequent explanation, make clear he was talking about Democratic attacks on his administration’s handling of the outbreak, not the virus itself."

Hey!  That's exactly what you're doing right now!  And topping it off by calling close to half the country Nazi's because you're so Trump Deranged is just wrong.  I guess that makes you a Stallinist.

Looks like I hit a nerve with you, Chuckles. Let's not mention that the 15 infected Americans will soon be zero.

Or that the  ''hoax'' virus was supposed to over in April.

Or that anyone that wants a test will get one.

Maybe a couple of light bulbs washed down with a big glass of bleach and some cuddle time with your Trumpy Bear is in order for you?

Just sayin'.....

Trump. Did. Nothing.

He could have reassembled the pandemic team (in early January, when he received the warnings). He could have mobilized federal resources to produce and distribute PPE, test kits, and ventilators. He could have asked Congress to authorize more funding for the CDC. He could have ramped up lab capacity. He could have mobilized the military.

None of those measures would have been even mildly disruptive to American society. His failures and inaction, however, were massively

disruptive.

Instead, Trump. Did. Nothing. He knew about the danger at least four weeks before the WHO declaration, which he ignored BTW. He. Did. Nothing.

I didn't know, because I don't get detailed classified intelligence briefings from a highly trained and skilled staff.

Trump chose not to even read those briefings. You're making yourself look like an idiot trying to excuse him.

And yes, Xi played Trump, as in, manipulated, flattered, cajoled, and pandered to him. It was like a chess grandmaster defeating a retarded six-year-old.

I'm asking YOU who's on first.

That's the man's name.

That's who's name?

Yes.

Well go ahead and tell me.

That's it.

That's who?

Yes.

No you didn't hit a nerve.  Trump did not call the Virus a Hoax.  That's a lie.  You were perpetuating a falsehood that has been debunked by a respected fact checking organization....which I linked to.  A simple, "Sorry I was wrong about that" would be a better response from you.

Unfortunately, you'll say anything whether it's true or not...as long as you think you're hurting Trump.  All i did was set the record straight.  So you call me names and insult me.  That's kind of childish, don't you think?

Kevin is a pathological liar - sick beyond reason.

It seems like Mark just wants to keep the lockdown until a vaccine is widely distributed.  Because until that happens the elderly and those with chronic health conditions will continue to be at high risk for Covid.   Even with a vaccine, 60,000 Americans a year die from the flu.

The other alternative is to shelter in place until it dies out. COVID-19 is not the flu. It has a higher RO number. The flu kills .1 percent of people infected with it but the current number of infected of COVID-19 dying in the US using the real-time numbers from John Hopkins is 5.9%.

Smart states are opening up in phases.  They are keeping the social distancing.  They are not allowing large crowds.  But they are opening.  Keeping everyone locked down is the real lunacy. How many people have to die from the lockdown itself before it's killing more than Covid?  How many aren't being dignosed with cancer?  How many new homeless?  How many suicides?  How many trillions sucked from the economy that might have gone to medical research or helping people out of poverty?

Yeah, let's open the tattoo parlors, massage parlors and hair salons where people have to touch other people first. That is the conservative idea of smart.  Nobody is dying from the lockdown especially if the government is doing what it should do.

There are 2 groups that are mostly impacted by Covid19.  The elderly and those with chronic medical conditions.  Let's lock them down.  Take care of them.  Focus the testing on the people who must have contact with them.  Most everyone else has mild symptoms or no symptoms at all.  Let them get back to work.  If you're a senior or have a chronic health conditon stay in lockdown until this eventually passes.  Everyone else get to work!

Hey, I have an idea! Let's take all the folks older than 65 and those with chronic conditions out back behind the White House and shoot them in the head. You might as well. It would be less cruel. People that die from COVID-19 tend to linger on for weeks dying a very painful death. 15-20% of those infected that don't die end up with permanent organ damage and have to live the rest of their life with a severe disability.  There was an article out today that says some healthy asymptomatic children with COVID-19 end up with a new kind of illness they haven't seen before that leaves them with permanent organ damage.

Let's see the proposal on locking down the elderly and chronically ill. There are no plans to or in the works right now to do so. You realize there would have to be an army of people to provide these folks food, medicine and other necessities. For those that need some kind of caregiver or to regularly see a doctor do you plan to force their doctors and caregivers to be on lockdown with them so they don't infect their patients? There is no practical way to do what you are purposing. That is why Republicans have decided these folks are simply expendable.

Another thing it is nutty to call it a lockdown. A lockdown is where they have an armed guard stationed at your door preventing you from leaving your residence. You are simply experiencing some minor inconveniences. My life has hardly changed at all. I go to my locally owned grocery instead of one of the big box retailers 30 minutes to an hour away. I pick my prescriptions at the drive-through instead of going into the pharmacy. When I don't want to cook, I do take-out or delivery.

You must be used to a very pampered hedonistic life. You are asking hundreds of thousands or maybe even millions to die or suffer permanent disability so you can go back to drinking your lattes.

Charles neglects to mention that the negative economic effects of lockdowns (or whatever you want to call them) can be (and are being) mitigated with government aid.

Therefore, it's not a choice between "lock down and people starve" or "open up and people die." The third option, provide government relief to buy time until a vaccine and/or a clinical treatment is developed, in the meantime keeping things locked down, is the safest, smartest, and most humane option.
