Quotes matter unless you want to distort the truth.
Tucker said, "If this stuff works, why can't you live like it works? Why are you wearing a mask? Why can’t you eat in a restaurant? And if it doesn’t prevent you from catching the coronavirus, why are we taking it in the first place? Both can't be true."
I agree. Fauchi's doom and gloom give young people little incentive to get the vaccine. Why get a vaccine if you must still double mask and stay away from family until, MAYBE, a limited number of friends for a backyard 4th of July BBQ?
Why? To lower the risk of being infected, getting sick, passing on the infection to others, etc. Tucker Bozo seems to view this as a binary choice---complete risk, or no risk. That's a childish oversimplification. It's like saying that now that cars have seatbelts and airbags, we shouldn't have traffic laws, because we're all invulnerable now.
The reason to get vaccinated is NOT to enable yourself to go prancing around without a mask and partAAAAY all night with your maskless friends. It's to slow, and eventually stop, the spread of the virus. I'm really sick of hearing everybody whine whine whine, I can't have my funsies, goddamn liberals, it's all a hoax because Trumpie and Tucker said so.
Talking about stopping something that's killed over 5 million people isn't "doom and gloom." It's being realistic. You talk about incentive? Well, that incentive shouldn't be about me me me me me. It should be about protecting each other. Yeah, the spring breakers weren't that likely, individually, to get sick, and very unlikely to die. But then they went home and hugged Grandma...
As always, it's all about the science. Why does Whiny Tucker-poo still have to wear a mask? Because being vaccinated does NOT mean you can't carry the virus and infect others. A recent poll found that 40% of those surveyed, and 60% of Republicans, still believe that if you don't have symptoms, you can't be carrying the virus. I guess we can't expect these nimrods to understand the concept of asymptomatic transmission if they can't even spell it.
