The ludicrous part about all that kerfuffling is that NO major religion prohibits cross-dressing, and some religions actually revere it. As far as transgender people are concerned, they're often considered to be unique and special beings. The Navajo, for example, consider them to be members of a third gender and imbued with special spiritual power.
