Unemployment!

Weekly US unemployment claims now the lowest since Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon.

Not too shabby.

   Seems strange, doesn't it, with "help wanted" signs everywhere and employers begging for job seekers. But I guess when the government can manipulate the numbers to paint a rosy picture for the current socialist administration - anything is possible. 

It is not strange at all David. A lot of people left the job market during the pandemic and aren't going back. Some that were close to retirement age simply retired. Others that were working in low-paying retail and restaurant jobs simply decided that working for such low wages and constantly being forced to serve people that didn't care about their health wasn't worth the low wages. Nobody should have to endure a constant stream of MAGA assholes many of which are violent. 

   You are right about one thing, people should not have to suffer, but, of course, that does not include the millions you have conviently forgotten to mention who will suffer from the forthcoming inflation, rising gasoline/heating oil prices and the higher taxes they will have to pay. Many of those who left the job market will soon be looking for work as their year and a half of government handouts dissipate. Unemployment will rise and you gloaters will be no where to be found once the socialist DemocRat Party mandates have taken full effect - and for that you can blame the Biden administration assholes, many who are traitors.

So according to mark, people who don't feel like working are entitled to stay home & live off govt money.  The problem with that philosophy is eventually you run out of workers who produce product to support the moochers.

Far cry from if you don't like your job, improve yourself so you can get a better job.

What free handouts are they getting? As the OPs post indicated unemployment claims are at a record low. Some of them found other higher-paying work in different industries but others made adjustments to their lifestyle during the Pandemic and decided to stick with those adjustments. They noted their family's quality of life improved when a parent stayed at home with the kids rather than working at Micky D's.

More than half the people who left the workforce retired.   And since their generation is larger than the one that comes after it we have a hole thats not easy to fill with our current population size.   We now have more jobs than people to fill them....which has made wages go up.   

And it also begs the question as to why we aren't allowing potential workers applyind for assylum at the border to filll much needed labor positions.

I think it has something to do with Tucker and Tom worrying about white America being replaced by scary foreigners who speak some other language.

There are more to govt handouts than unemployment.  There is welfare, medicaid, food stamps & housing assistance.

Tom, they would have qualifed for all that stuff while still working at most retail or fast food jobs.

Isn't it hilarious how our resident conservitards' "evaluations" stem from their beliefs rather than factual assessments?

Look at how they twist and squirm to attempt to deny the simple reality that the economy is improving!
