That term, of course, implies that everyone who receives those benefits is a freeloading bum. The reality is that we all pay for those benefits with taxes. They're like insurance--those who need it can use it. It's part of the American social contract, a concept far, far beyond the grasp of things like Tommie-poo.

If everything is going so well why is it so urgent to spend trillions of $ where we don't have?

The article you posted did not say 50% of the people who dropped out of the work force retired.  It did say that the number of retirees is up 50%  Two different things.

According to the USDA the number of people on food stamps in the last 2 years has gone from 37m to 41m.

In Az where I am working temporaily, there are people begging for $ outside Frys Supermarkets that has a help wanted sign.  Something is wrong here.

Yes, and I can show data that isn't cherry picked.    We have the same number of people on Food stamps now as three years ago...but somehow there's way more people absent from the workforce.    Can Tom explain that aside from the observation he made about seeing a begger in AZ?
