United States employee participation rate

Some on this site argue that Biden has added 800,000 new jobs the past two month.  After all, that is what Sleepy tells us.  Yet the truth is that we have hundreds of thousands of few employed people than we did two months ago.  Whatever you do, NEVER trust a Lyin' Liberal.  Here's the truth that Sleepy and friends never will tell.  Kevin is certain to call this US government data not worth viewing.

Hey, unemployment is at a record low!

Uh oh. We'd better come up with some completely new term.

OK, how about "labor participation rate"?

Heh, heh. That's a good one. What does it mean?

Nothing! But it's a different number, so we can throw it out there whenever anyone tries to give Biden credit for low unemployment.

Yeah, we can only blame him for bad stuff, not give him credit for good stuff.

Exactly!

When your policies, i.e. the DemocRatic covid mandated shutdowns, cause millions of previously employed persons to lose their jobs, having a few thousand returning to work does not equate to "job creation". These so called "low unemployment" numbers only indicate that those who are actually seeking employment are now getting jobs, while millions of previously employed people are sitting on their asses living off of the free money Biden's administration has handed out. If the "low unemployment" numbers were a true indicator of employment, then why are businesses unable to hire people to work? The answer is simple - brain dead Biden and his corrupt socialistic administration has caused the unemployment problem by their draconain covid shutdown mandates and all of the "free" money handed out. Even a moron such as Lewis should be able to comprehend these facts - but being the asshole he is, Lewis would rather twist the truth/facts and defend brain dead Biden's moronic socialist agenda - which is ruining America - than admit the truth.

The so called economics expert shows his ignorance again.  It is an old Labor Dept stat & has been declining since he became president

The labor force participation rate is an estimate of an economy’s active workforce. The formula is the number of people ages 16 and older who are employed or actively seeking employment, divided by the total non-institutionalized, civilian working-age population.

Bingo !    Good definition, Tom.   And the key phrase there is "actively seeking employment"

You know who isnt actively seeking employment?  People who are retired - like David MIller.   And if you understand the demographics of the baby boomer population then it makes sense.

We have wage inflation for the first time since the 1970's and its for only one reason.  There are more jobs than there are people to fill them.   Airlines, restaurants, oil fields, tech workers, teachers, nurses, ....you name it.   There is a massive under supply of workers.       Are you seriously denying the "help wanted" signs in every business in every zipcode in every state right now?

People like Boilerman who complain about wage inflation and the labor force particiapltion rate are contradicting themselves.    And its pretty funny.   Never trust a lyin Boilerman.

David Miller, being retired at age 74, is only ONE of the MILLIONS of Americans who are not employed as they once were pre covid and before the job and small business killing brain dead Biden mandates.

The population has been aging. The proportion of retired people has been rising. That's why. It has absolutely nothing to do with employment rates.

That's so obvious, I didn't bother to point it out at first, but you needed schooling, once again.
