US Covid-19 single-day deaths hit new record of 2300 as Trump says US is past peak

U.S. coronavirus deaths increased by a record number for the second day in a row, rising by at least 2,371 on Wednesday to top 30,800, according to a Reuters tally, as states spared the worst of the pandemic mulled a partial lifting of restrictions on business and social life by May 1.

Yep, tell me again how now is the time to reopen the country. All I want to know is are the Trumpers going to continue to make lame excuses like how could have Trump knew, no Monday morning quarterbacking and it is the communist Chinese fault when reopening the economy spreads new infections like the plague?

But Mark, isn't it worth a few hundred thousand extra deaths if Trumpie-poo gets reelected?

That's what Trump wants. That's what Trumpers want. That's what Fox News and Moscow Mitch want.

Mark, Mark, Mark...when will you realize that corporate shareholder value is FAR more important than people's lives? Stop being such a snowflake liberal and criticizing our glorious orange leader!

The Democrats & in turn the stooges would rather keep the economy in recession in order to advance their election chances.

Pelosi & Schumer by stonewalling the increase to the small business fund would prefer to keep Americans unemployed.

Countries that shut down early like South Korea and Germany are probably going to take less of a hit than the US.

Indiana has a really good website that graphically shows the number of cases/deaths by county....as well as the trend of new cases.      We are WAY down from a few weeks ago.     Social distancing is working.

I actually give high marks to our Republican governor, Erick Holcomb, for acting more quickly than several of our neighboring states.    It wasn't an easy to call to make.

You have to go by NEW cases, wtf you fucking idiots!

From today's Wall Street Journal:

Banking and financial services executives told President Trump that his administration needed to dramatically increase the availability of coronavirus testing before the public would be confident enough to return to work, eat at restaurants or shop in retail establishments, according to people familiar with the matter.

I guess it's not Pelosi and Schumer that are keeping America shut down. It's the lack of testing.

Leadership matters.

New York state two days ago added several thousand new deaths which had been reclassified.  The deaths occured over the past few weeks.....not all a few days ago.  Also, I watched Fauci give a speech yesterday, and he said that the US has reached the plateau.

Once again, when is Trump to listen to the doctors, and when is he not?  You Libs can't seem to make up your minds.

I am looking at that right now PJ and what I see is that yesterday we had the highest number of new cases.

I spoke to a high ranking state official yesterday in person and he strongly implied they were going with the May 1st Trump plan. I hope this isn't the case. The cases in the rural counties in the Southern Part of the state are going up now.  As of right now, I'd give Holcomb high marks, but if he makes us drink the Trump Kool-Aid May 1st, I am going to have to give him an F.

PJ, setting the policy was easy.  Living with the ramifications will be the hard part.
