Oh, come on. If it was "buried," you wouldn't have heard of it in the first place. Actually, literally billions of words in print amd other media have been devoted to it. If there was any substance to it, it would be a much bigger deal than it is.
Of course, you can go on believing that it's some kind of vast conspiracy, but I prefer simpler explanations: no one's paying any attention to it any more because there was nothing to it.
