Well, bikers are pretty low on the cognitive scale--plus, a major element of their mythos is that they all believe in "FREEDUMB!" I wouldn't be surprised at all if anyone at this event who decides to wear a mask is derided as a "pussy" and maybe even "Un-American." Maybe even beaten up, who knows.
I wonder how the locals feel about all this. On the one hand, a large portion of their yearly income is derived from milking all these yahoos for every nickel they can. On the other, Sturgis is a small, isolated town with limited medical facilities and only a few hospital beds. A week after the biker boys leave, cases start popping up all over town---what will they do?
I wonder how long it takes to clean up the epic mess that is left behind by the bikers. That will be yet another hazard in and of itself.
So the bike rally is going to utilize the same practices as American schools?
The kids at least have the excuse that they don't know how to behave like adults. The bikers, on the other hand, have no excuse for acting like irresponsible children.
But hey, a bunch of bikers are having a good time, right? It's that worth a measly few hundred deaths? "Don't wanna stroke my pickle, jest wanna ride mah MOTOR-sickle!"
And just how many deaths came from the July 4th rally that you stated was doomed and would cause a forest fire and rampant Covid spread? Uhh, wrong again!
Crazy no reports on the usual suspect news channels, 20 shot in DC over a bbq or something as bad. Yet, all they report on is the bikers without mask! Omg the lunacy!

There's little arguement on which situation garners more press. For example, I just went to Google news and typed "DC BBQ shooting". I found three immediate hits. Next I typed "Bikers masks", and found countless hits.

Damn straight - some stories have bigger national implications than others. Go figure.
250k people in close quarters during a pandemic probably poses a bigger danger to the public than an anecdotal homicide in DC. It also probaly makes people like you uncomfortable knowing that its another example of failed leadership and the partisan ramifications of making a pandemic political.
