We probably won't have to sweat Georgia

AZ Senate race just went blue with Kelly; Cortez-Masto is now trailing by less than 1,000 votes, with the votes yet to be counted coming from Clark and Washoe counties, when Cortez-Masto has so far enjoyed a 7% advantage. So doing the math, she ought to win by 10,000+ votes.

Sisolak lost, but Lombardo is the casinos' boy after Sisolak pissed them off with covid restrictions, so that was too much of a headwind. In AZ, Kari Flake got thumped. So...tossup.

I've read the RepubliQ script and the next scheduled performance is to deny the results of any elections they didn't win, based on evil space aliens teleporting ballots and billions of dead people voting. But of course, the elections they won--beyond reproach.

Of course, we still want to win Georgia, because a) doing so would drastically diminish the power of that asshole Manchin, and b) we would keep that lying moron Walker out of public office. Good news: the 2% Libertarian vote that kept Warnock from getting above 50% will likely go Democratic, as it did in the 2020 runoff.

The outcome of these midterms will culminate in legislative gridlock for at least the ensuing two years for most congessional voting issues; add to that an ongoing investigationfest from House committees chaired by R's ( following their likely majority win if it occurs). That's the likely merry-go-round ride we're all in for. Can't wait...yipee-ti-yea.

The Democrats will just need to formulate means and methods to whup DeSantis in the 2024 general election. Good luck with that..

With Hobbs having a 31000 vote lead and 370000 votes left to count, why are you saying that Lake got thumped? Do you have evidence that supports your statement? Perhaps you have evidence of voter fraud? How else could you call the Arizona race a thumping of Lake? You always have to spout nonsense just to post something.

You have no idea whether the Libertarian voters will even participate in the Georgia runoff. As usual, you make it sound like it's true and accurate, but it's just your conjecture. Your Trooty Troot.

That being said, I certainly hope that Laxalt loses, Lake loses and so does Walker. Laxalt has distanced himself from the big lie, but I believe that he does embrace it to some extent and the other two are just plain wackos.

Let me answer your questions! Glad to help!

Hobbs was "behind" Lake by a substantial margin until the votes from Maricopa and Pima counties (Phoenix/Tucson) started coming in. Since then, Hobbs has gained the lead and it continues to widen as votes from those counties are tabulated. Both those counties lean slightly Democratic. So it's very unlikely that Lake can catch up now.

Lake got thumped because she chose to be a conspiracy theory-spouting election denier, relying on red meat thrown to the "base" in a state that is anything but dead-red. She could have won easily by just acting sane. But then, she decided that the best way to get her ass elected was to start fellating Trump. Oopsy. Bad move. Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. That's what I mean by "thumped." Hobbs isn't all that popular. But many voters preferred him to a wackadoodle Trump-nut.

If all the Libertarian voters stay home in the runoff, and everyone else votes the same way they did on Nov. 8, Warnock would win with about 51% of the vote. If the Libertarians do vote and split evenly, the same margin would apply. Roughly 75% of those Libertarians would have to go for Walker to tip things in his favor. No way does that happen. So, Warnock will win whether the Libertarians vote or not,

I think that legislative gridlock isn't a terrible outcome. After all, it's not as if we didn't have that already--Joe Manchin smugly sits back and folds his arms and says "No no no no no," not unless he gets his $1.5 million personal coal revenues will he say "yes" on the infrastructure bill. So the RepubliQ complaints have been unfounded all along. If we take Georgia, there'll be a wee bit of breathing room, as opposed to none at all. As far as the House goes--it'll be a tale full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Yes, it'll be a RepubliQ revenge-fest, replete with entertaining fairy stories about Hunter Biden's imaginary magical laptop. They won't get jack shit of any importance done, and the public will see them running around in circles, flapping their arms, and foaming at the mouth, and ask, "Why, exactly, did we elect these clowns?" That will lead to a rout in 2024. I can't wait.

I still fondly hope for the RepubliQ to rip itself apart, splitting into a Trump faction and an anyone else-faction. The dream scenario is Trump forming his own party and running against DeSantis or whomever. That would be "game over." But if it's DeSantis alone that we're up against, we should hammer, hammer, hammer away at how that jerkwad is an election denier, killed thousands with his anti-vax, anti-masking rhetoric, and until the RepubliQ primary debate turned into an exchange of gunfire, was an ardent supporter and ally of the Orange Pusbag.

I think that the results of the recent elections show that the public isn't gobbling up the RepubliQ crap quite as readily as the pundits and pollsters thought. Enough people--only JUST enough, granted--apparently know that only one party has their interests at heart, and the other is the servant of giant corporations. And all the virtue signaling and stupid crap like bitching about CRT may get the base all ginned up, but eventually people say, OK, but what are you guys doing for us? A question that will be met with deafening silence.

Hobbs has never been behind in this election, much less by a substantial margin. Hobbs had a substantial 180000 vote lead at the close of polls and the initial ballot count release. How many of the 370000 ballots left to count are for Lake? I admit that I don't know, but I suspect it'll be a majority for Lake since 292000 were dropped off at the polls on election day.. At one time Lake had narrowed that lead to just 4000. It's now around 31000 for Hobbs. In this race, it ain't over till it's over.

Correct. There are still the frivolous lawsuits by nutjob Lake to delay the outcome.

One must not discount the law suits from the dangerous Finchem and the wacked out Masters as well.

Do the math. If Lake were to catch up, she'd have to get about 54% of the remaining votes. Given where those votes are coming from, I can't see that type of advantage. One interesting factor is that many of the rural shitkicker counties haven't tabulated all their votes/mail-in ballots haven't been counted/etc., something that normally favors Republicans, but in AZ, many of those rural counties are tribal, and the tribes vote heavily Democratic.

Most of the votes remaining to be tallied are in Maricopa County, where Hobbs has had a 4% advantage so far.

What makes you think that only Republicans feed at the political contribution trough and are the lone 'servant of giant corporations' ? Both parties and their candidates receive funds from any source they can conceivably dip their analogous dirty hands and feet in. Your statement is wrong and just not true, including the suggestion that only one party ( yours) has the voters best interests at heart. There's enough historical and recent proof demonstrating that both parties and their respective candidates largely care only about capturing and maintaining power. There's a limited few decent reps on both sides, but most politicians are inherently narcissistic and should just list that personality trait on their resumes.

You might want to study the facts in more depth. Here's a site that might add  to your factual education level. It's nonpartisan (to my knowledge) and they 'follow the money'. Your buddy ( I assume) George Soros is on the list.
