What resources are NYC and DC officials giving to illegals?

If they get paid in cash, the employer is committing a crime. That's why it happens very rarely.  Doesn't happen often enough to worry about.

Here is info on the underground economy.

The underground economy is called the shadow economy, the black market, or the informal economy.  While estimates vary, some put the underground economy at 11% to 12% of U.S. gross domestic product (GDP), or roughly $2.25 trillion to $2.5 trillion

A major component of the underground economy are cash-intensive businesses such as liquor and convenience stores, beauty salons, restaurants, taxis, landscaping, construction, domestic work, and small food establishments

One would think kevin with his his background in economics, taxation & cpa would actually know this

That has nothing to do with whether or not such businesses conform to employment laws. It also has nothing to do with immigration, legal or otherwise.

Stupid Tommie-poo.

Charles Higgins, I certainly wouldn't lump you in with all conservatives and Republicans, but we know who they voted for, don't we? A president who accused most Mexican immigrants of being smugglers and rapists, and one who wanted to disqualify a Mexican-AMERICAN judge because of his race.

That you identify with conservatives and Republicans already says a lot about you. If you're not shamed then you are not paying attention.

@MrPicture...I've already stated in this forum months ago that I voted for Trump twice. I also outlined my personal reasons for doing so ( the grand majority of which relate to monetary policy). No matter how many tall buildings I bounded over from a flat-footed stance in describing said reasons, you'd never accept / acknowledge them; you'd make an attempt to skew them , twist them, mischaracterize them into something morphologically different than their original state and intent. So, you ( like many of your counterparts in this forum) label all conservatives as degenerates who should be ashamed... all the while not knowing their background, their lifelong and daily struggles that everybody experiences regardless of political persuasion, nor who they really are as a human. These differences between Dems and conservatives are  inherent policy / ideologic separations at the outset which eventually morph into hard line personal insults and collated labeling. I get it..you don't agree with most tenets of the conservative profile. I give you that freedom to disagree. It's not very astute to blame an individual for mistakes committed by anybody else ( you blame me for his mistakes just by voting association?)..and Trump made a number of them. Who on this earth is without errors?

In a later thread in this very forum, I also denounced Trump's actions surrounding the Jan 6 situation. I won't vote for him again because of those particular actions..I stated so. So now have I reclaimed human form again with that declaration as far as you're concerned? Did I emerge from some purgatory abyss and recapture my 23 pairs of chromosomes in your eyes? You're not going to approve of whom I vote for next round regardless of who it might be..and that's just fine with me.

The fact that I identify with conservatives..what does that say about me in particular? Answer your own interrogatory for me...clue me in. There are very few solution-based discussions in this kitchen sink forum..and explains why I seldom participate. Carry on.

Charles, a question - maybe you have already answered in previous posts and, if so, I missed it. You say that you won't vote for President Trump again because of his actions surrounding the Jan 6 situation - would you elaborate as to what the actions were? I am not trying to put you into a corner or start something - I honestly would like to know. I wish the forum had a way to communicate privately with one another because others will feel they have the right to critique any and everything posted here, and we all know what happens when they do. If you don't want to, I understand. Please consider my request. Thanks.

Once again stupid kevin shows that he is not the finance expert he pretends to be.

A person has a business and takes cash as payment.  Instead of declaring that sale, he puts it into a cash box.  If he has an illegal with no documentation that illegal will get paid in cash.  No record of sale, no record of an employee, several income reporting & employment laws are broken Thus the underground economy which is estimated to be 11% of the US GDP.

For example, when kevin goes out to buy pizza & pays cash, does kevin actually think all that cash is rung up?  Frequently the cash drawer is left open, so the sale isn't recorded on the register.

It indicates that you have a heightened fear response and are consequently resistant to change. That could have been exacerbated by your background/upbringing. It's a fundamentally flawed way of looking at the world, and in particular doesn't mesh with modern society, but it's not like you're alone in your ideology.

Re the Orange Pusbag: it was evident from the day he threw his hat in the ring that this man is a crass asshole and not remotely fit for public office. That should have overridden any considerations of ideology or party affiliation. If you voted for him, you sold your soul, and I'm sure you had some wonderful-sounding justification for it--all Trumpers do.And in case you're wondering, if he had decided to put on a Democrat hat and run for President, I would have voted Repuublican.

And as I'm sure you're at least sort of aware, Trump is no more a Republican than he is a Martian. It's just the gang he calculated would be better for him to join. That's why the ideological fealty excuse rings so hollow. Trump actually shat on everything the Republican party allegedly stood for.

So I'm afraid I really can't respect anyone who observed this piece of shit's behavior and voted for him anyway--especially the second time. A craving for novelty or a desire to shake up the status quo might sort of excuse the first.

So why are you a conservative Trumper? Your brain is abnormal (albeit with a quite common condition) and you are an extremely poor judge of character. And denouncing the insurrection doesn't score you any points--any decent American should do that, it's like denouncing the Holocaust.

(Which makes it truly horrifying that so many people actually support it, but that's another issue.)

Didn't say it doesn't happen. Said that it's rare.

Wow, David didn't scream at him, call him a liar, and tell him he is destroying America, even though he committed the unpardonable sin of criticizing David's orange hero.

Is David getting soft???

11% of the economy is not rare

Stupid toxic kevin

Made-up figures are not real. And no fucking way are 11% of the nation's workers working for cash.

First of all, why are you breaking your vow not to talk/respond to my posts ( except to cuss me out)? As to your question -(1) Charles is obviously one who actually thinks , (2) he is not a foul mouthed, hateful person, (3) his postings deserve the respect he gives others, whether he agrees with their views, or not. (4) You are an entirely different story, as I have alluded to many times over with you filthy name calling, insults, obvious ignorance, and hateful demeaner. One deserves what they sow.
