Why Do Conservatives Believe Trump Is Above The Law?

I'm trying to remember what it was Hillary did that made the entire conservative-sphere want to put her in prison.....and how that compares to the seemingly million-times worse document scandal Trump is waist deep in now....and how that same massive swath of our population is now on radio silence.

Its reminiscent of the Monica Lewinsky crusaders burying their heads during the Stormy Daniels and "pussy grabber tape" incidents.

If I didnt know better I might suggest they dont buy into their own bullshit.

Well, Hillary is a WOMAN (horrors!) who DARED to run for President (uppity bitch!), so, she was a particularly large target for conservitards. That, and she ran against an opponent whose entire shtick was fomenting a personality cult and slinging personal attacks. Policy-wise, there was nothing about her platform that was particularly exciting (or infuriating). But do you recall ANY time during the 2016 campaign when policy was discussed or even mentioned?

I doubt that any of the MAGA outrage was ever real. Hillary's transgressions were extremely small beer compared to the horrific things her opponent did. So no, I doubt they believed their own bullshit at all.

Don't forget Miss Lindsey didn't think blackmailing a foreign country to make up a phony police investigation or inciting an insurrection that resulted in the capital being sacked met the bar of being a high crime.  But he thought a straight man getting a consensual BJ from a woman did.

Well, Miss Lindsey may have been jealous, as he needed $1000 to get a BJ and later, even that wasn't enough, and he had to use a gun.

If I "worry" about the current President, my remedy is to not vote for him next time. When TrumpTurd was pseudo-President, that was also my remedy. That's the liberal way. The conservative way seems to be to claim that the current President got there by cheating. Failing that--well, they say, let's just storm the Capitol and kill him.

Are you proud to be on that side?

The current economic conditions can be called a recession, a depression, a boom, or a frabulated flamborkin, and they'd be the same regardless of whatever semantic label was attached. The reality, of course, is that the current situation is unique, to the extent that no one single term accurately describes it. But that's much too nuanced a viewpoint for the drooling mouth-breathers to whom the conservitard propaganda outlets throw red meat on a daily basis.

I had some hope that, despite your twisted worldview, you didn't fall into that category.

As far as Pelosi and AOC are concerned, I'm moderately unhappy with Pelosi, because she needs to grab Republican balls and squeeze them HARD, but she still treats them like rational and moral human beings, which is a mistake. And AOC? I certainly don't have the white-hot conservitard hatred for her caused by her unforgivable sin of being nonwhite and female yet DARING to hold high political office, but I do disagree with much of what she says. And I put up with my disagreements because these are democratically elected representatives, and my remedy is to vote for someone else if I so choose.

The long game is to try to convince my fellow citizens to not elect tools and assholes, whichever party's label they may paste on their foreheads. And that's the real problem right now, not the individual legislators. Getting rid of the bums may sound appealing, but not when we replace them with worse bums

That is actually not a bad take by Kevin.  And no, I'm not particularily proud to be on any side these days. The last 15 years I find myself hating almost every politician on each side.  It is kind of sickening how they are all about themselves. (almost all of them)  I just have a hard time believing we can't find some decent leadership in this country.  These career politicians are an utter joke. (And no, going for narcisstic celebrity fake businessman wasn't the answer either; far from it)  It is pretty sad and pretty embarrassing what is going on in this country.

Yeah, Democrats want to offer some relief to those with student loans ad allow for safe and legal abortions.

Republicans defend those who fomented an insurrection in our nation's capitol and defend the theft of government documents, some of them classified as top secret.

Both sides!!!!!!

That's the fundamental difference between the two sides now. Democrats are trying to help the average guy; Republicans are focused on making big corporations more profitable, virtue signaling, and ginning up the base with fear-inducing propaganda.

I mean, what have Republicans done in the last few years--anywhere--besides enacting bans and restrictions on things that their ideology doesn't jive with? Not to mention eyes-bulged-out purple-faced crusades against totally imaginary things, like CRT being taught to grade schoolers, "grooming," and trillions of feelthy Messkins flooding across the border and beating stupid Tommie-poo's neighbors to death with stale burritos.

And before anyone else says it, yes, both sides are often simply trying to buy votes. But you can buy my vote a lot more easily by making insulin cheaper than by firing teachers who mention slavery.

Plus, I think there are a LOT more genuine, dedicated public servants on the Democratic side now. That's primarily because their equivalents on the Republican side are being hounded out of office.

That is kind of cherry picking though.  I don't disagree with you on that above though.
