Worried about crazy libs

Its not an issue that impacts me - but I suspect it will be met with a massive backlash from women.    Abortion rights is not a 50/50 issue in this country.  People overwhelingly support right to choose.   If this goes through it will be a disaster for Republicans politically.    This was always a red-meat issue for their fringe base.

Yes.  I vetted and selected those who would follow the Constitution.  Those who ignore the Constitution need not apply

PJ, we all know that Roe vs Wade/abortion were never addressed within the Constitution, meaning that it should always have been left to each individual state's voters.  Libs scoff at this, because they would rather have a bunch of Liberal judges on the Bench who are very willing to legislate from the bench.

"massive backlash from 'women'"?  Get with the Democrat agenda, you transphobic bigot!  You must say 'birthing people'.

No Supreme Court decision is spelled out  in the Constituion - thats how cases get to the Supreme Court.   The court renders their verdict based upon how cases hold up against Federal Law to the best of their view.

Ansd this process was already done 40 years ago....and now the Supreme Court is taking the completely radical step of ignoring precedent and installing one from their psychotic religous cult.

We'll see if it ultimately goes through.   If it does - good luck defending it in a general election.

In polls listing key issues for voters, abortion is near the bottom usually in the 4% range

Yes, because ROE-V-WADE was protecting it....and for 40 years its just been evangelical sabre rattling that threatened it.     If the psychos get to have their way and force women to bear children from their rapists.....oh boy, look out Republicans.

6 in 10 AMericans dont agree with the extremist religious cult disciples on the Supreme Court

One voice can change things.  Without stating my position on either issue, remember Madeline Murray O'Hare?

(I probably misspelled her name.   It has been a few years.)

Hey, dumb asshole, you can't talk out of both sides of your mouth at once and sound credible. You said that the Constitution doesn't deal with abortion. Therefore, forbidding it is unconstitutional! DUHHH, Boiler!

It's a stupid argument anyway. The Court, historically, has dealt with hundreds of issues that were never mentioned in the Constitution.

I hope they do overturn Roe. That could be the one thing that guarantees a Democratic victory in 2022 and 2024.

I know that conservitard scumbag RepubliQ assholes have wet dreams about the Federal Abortion Police and a national compulsory pregnancy registry (especially if they're in Texas). But sane, decent citizens--of which there all still many--aren't so sure that that's a good idea.

Isn't it hilarious that the party that's supposedly against "big government" wants to track women's pregnancies and punish them for terminating those pregnancies? That would take a bureaucracy that would dwarf the FBI!

It was O'Hair. And boy oh boy oh boy, did she twist fundamentalist panties. To the extent that she and her husband were eventually murdered. I don't remember the full story.

What interests me is how and why the nation pivoted back to religious fundamentalism after several decades of reform. Was it just Ronnie Raygun? In any event, I can only imagine the reception O'Hair would get today. It wouldn't be a week before some alt-right cracker showed up at one of her speeches with his manly man GUN.

There is no law against leaking Supreme Court draft opinions. What would be the punishment other than getting fired?
