Trump gives Canadians his middle finger; Vegas casinos chop it off

Canadian visitation is waaaay down, because a) Trump barfed out plans to annex Canada, b) Trumpiffs are apparently hurting the Canadian economy even worse than they are hurting ours.

So some Vegas casinos are offering Canadians great deals. The best is the offer to exchange Canadian dollars for chips at par. As the Canadian dollar is worth $0.72 US, that's a bonus of $140 for every $500 Canadian buyin. Sweet!! And if that can be done multiple times, like every day, that amounts to an all but free vacay.

I'd like to ask our Canadian LVAers a few questions. In the last year-plus (since Trump oozed into office):

Have you canceled vacation plans to visit the US (Vegas or otherwise)?

Are the new casino offers enough incentive to visit Vegas when you wouldn't have otherwise?

Are there casinos within driving distance of Canada that are making similar offers?

We love and admire you folks and your beautiful country. I personally feel terrible about Trump crapping on our close friendship and hope it will be repaired and you forgive us.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, which has historically had multitudes of Canadian visitors. That was way down last year. Please ignore the shit coming from Washington DC and come visit us. The welcome mat is out!

(Oh, and smuggle in some maple syrup and we'll trade it for Kentucky bourbon.)

I agree.

 I don't.

On my recent Caribbean cruise, the majority of people on the ship were Canadian; it was also a very diverse international group. Anytime an entertainer or tour guide wanted a big cheer, they would ask, "Do we have any Canadians here?!?!" Then they would get a big response.

That was the same experience I had on my Mexican Riviera Cruise.

Was you cruise out of California? I was wondering if they were trying to avoid coming to the US.

I just got back from Vegas and did well with the Canada at Par offer at The D.  I wish this was a permanent yearly offer.  I heard from the staff that many Canadians have headed to their hotels as a result.

I haven't heard of any similar offers from Washington State yet.  It would be a big draw if Bellingham had a Canada at Par deal, or a ferry package.

Thanks for the kind words about Canada, Kevin.  It is much appreciated.

Last year went on Rocky Mountaineer and Via Train vacation.Heard anti Trump. No anti American people.Wonderful vacation.

Yes,  Los Angeles.   The Canadians we spoke with had already booked this trip well in advance.   They did say there were a lot that canceled their trip.

Canadians not wanting to come to America  is good for the rest of us going to Las Vegas.  I think we have all gotten better deals.  We all make choices, and if they don't want to come because of politics then that is their choice.  If you go downtown instead of the strip, that is the choice you make.  If Canadians say screw politics, and go to Circa for par then more power to them.  Now if you are a stockholder of MGM then that might be a different arguement
