Tampa Bay-over 5 1/2, had talent last year and quit on a coach who was in way over his head. (not sure about new coach though)

I agree with this one. They are much improved with free agents Vincent Jackson, Eric Wright and Carl Nicks + a hightly rated draft class.

I'll take that action right now. Any amount you want. I'll take the Saints and over 8.

Same offer goes to Blade...

Since I can get under 11 in Vegas why would I do that? Now...will you book under 11 or take over 11? Lost coach. New Defense. Vilma out. Disgruntled QB. It has the makings of disaster. That's why I thought the under 11 was a great bet.

You mentioned 8, not 11. In the betting world, future bets of 11 wins vs 8 wins is a HUGE margin. You are talking an elite, Super Bowl contender vs a team like Kansas City. If you feel strongly about the 8 total, and Vegas has the number at 11, wouldn't you crawl to a casino to get a bet down?
New Orleans is favored in 12 of 16 games this year. It is way too early but Vegas thinks highly of the Saints as a SB contender after ALL of the offseason crap.

What do I think? 11 is about right. That's why I don't think it is a good bet at 11. Peyton's absence is big as he is the best offensive mind in the game today. Vilma? His knee are shot and he may be released regardless of suspension. Curtis Lofton will replace him. Spags will be an upgrade over Williams. Addition by subtraction. I think the defense will be better this year. Disgruntled QB? Brees will be under center and Brees will be Brees come August. You have been watching too much SportsCenter.

Will everything come apart? Sure, it is a possibility. But Goodell's overreaching of his powers could galvanize this team. It already has brought together the New Orleans community. This is a veteran team with a good locker room.

I guess that's why they play the games...And yes...if the under 11 had been available to me on my last trip, I would have bet it...as well as the Over Bucks....but it turns out this is not necessarily the Vegas line and each of the shops I stopped into a week ago was not yet taking seasons win bets.

How about this...If the Saints win 12 or more I'll buy you a beer. If they win 10 or less, you buy me a beer. If they win 11 we'll buy each other beers.

I laughed at that post, too. Now if he wants to give you some significant odds at 8 wins, that would be different.

I haven't studied this, just perusing the odds while sipping on a Dogfish Head IPA, but my first observation is that I like quite a few teams that are expected to win a lot of games on the under, and quite a few teams expected to have dreadful seasons on the over.

You seem smart and nice, so please don't take this the wrong way. When you talk to Blackjack, see that he chooses opposite of you in next year's weenie dog football contest.
