Airfare Sky-High!!

Consolidation doesn't help. Southwest buying Airtran, AA and USA merging, etc.

Booked on 4/8/13 from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas and return on Delta. Had gold card offered $99.00 companion tickets

September 17th out and return Sept 24th. only draw back is a 3 hour layover in MSP on return.
1st. ticket $167.44 + $56/16 Total $223.60
2nd. ticket $92.09 + $50.61 Total $142.60
$366.20

Booked Southwest on 2/14/13 straight through Pittsburgh to Las Vegas includes EB extra $40.00 total $663.80
May 14 out return May 21st.

We fly Jet Blue twice a year from JFK,N.Y. When I see a reasonable fare I book it and then check each day. If the fare goes down I call Jet Blue and they put the difference in an account that we have a year to use. Am booked for Oct, $198 for a 10 a.m. flight going out and Nov. $ 179 coming home !:30 p.m. Times are perfect for us. The fares have gone up since I booked but I have plenty of time to keep checking.
