Another One Down.....And More To Come !

Two other prosecutors have gotten popped for DUI during Perry's tenure as governor. They were both Republicans. Perry didn't ask for their resignation or veto funding to their offices. Why the inconsistency?

As melonhead pointed out the Judge in this case is Republican and he is the one that thought there was enough evidence to appoint a special prosecutor to look into Perry's criminal deeds.

If Perry were smart (which he isn't) he would resign, enter a plea to the lesser charge and take a year of probation. Instead he is looking at spending years in court and facing 100 years in the clink.

Another lie from Roulette boy as he parrots the right wing line - the Travis County DA is NOT prosecuting Rick Perry. That is being done by a Republican prosecutor and a Republican judge, both from San Antonio, not Austin. And no, finding justice is NOT wasting taxpayer money.

Of course melonhead defends dangerous drunk driving behavior before all else. Go shine those jack boots an practice your goose step.

Let's take a look at some of the facts of this case. Melonhead is too insincere and too big of a shill for the liberal cause to disclose everything.

Perry is being indicted because he has line item veto power as governor of Texas. He exercised this power to eliminate funding to an anti-corruption task force overseen by the Travis County district attorney's office.

Rosemary Lehmberg was arrested for driving her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She registered more than three times the legal limit. She refused to step down from the integrity unit. This is the equivalent of having the fox guarding the henhouse.

A very highly liberal advocacy group, Texans for Public Justice, filed a complaint against the governor for this veto.

The case was kicked to San Antonio when Austin prosecutors recused themselves from the case.

The grand jury is from a predominantly Democratic jurisdiction.

The prosecutor, Mike McCrum, was a nominee for US Attorney in the San Antonio Office by Obama.

Mc Crum, a former defense attorney, was accused of contempt because prosecutors believed he told a key witness in an intoxication manslaughter trial to even questioning by getting lost for a while. He has denied the allegation, but it is under appeal by the prosecutors.

The case reeks of partisanship.

Wow - roulette boy still won't own up to his earlier lies, now he's trying to deflect by giving us facts. Actually, the last five are pretty accurate, if incomplete. But of course, he can't make an argument without throwing in his usual bullshit.
1. Perry is being indicted because he threatened a publicly elected official and abused his constitutional powers. It just so happens that some appointees of his were being investigated by the PIU when he vetoed funding...
2. Once again, since roulette boy can't seem to read above a third grade level: The Travis DA took responsibility for her actions, pled guilty, went to jail and served her time. Should she have resigned? Maybe, but by law she could not be forced out.
And of course, more juvenile insults from the little boy - insincere and a shill for the liberal cause? You need some new material, dude....

Your argument that he the prosecutor is a pure Republican got stomped on and slammed down your throat. I however want to apologize to you about call you old and senile. We will all be old some day and hopefully not senile. There is a small round room in The Smithsonian in DC that is called the cycle of life. It shows a figure from infancy to old age and dying. As many reach their very senior years, they revert back to the traits of their infancy. I apologize for making fun of your shortcomings.

Seriously. If someone is arrested for driving drunk at over three times the legal limit and then acts like a total ass at the police station, would you want her to head up an integrity or anti-corruption commission? Do you see the hypocrisy of it? Mr. Perry commended many of the other people on the commission, but said he could not approve her heading it up. Is that really a crime?
The other cases were just as bad and in one of them the state had to let 40+ criminals go free because in addition to DUI off the job that prosecutor had committed actual misconduct on the job. Perry said even in that case it was up to the voters to remove the prosecutor not him. He will go down in flames if he tries to use that as a defense because his actions weren't consistent. There is a reason Perry is making the taxpayers pay for a team $400+ an hour attorneys from a large private law firm to defend him rather than rely on one of the numerous attorney's already employed by the state. Your a smart enough guy to figure out the reason for that.

So yes I see the hypocrisy, but you seem to have blinders on.

The liberals on this board had Christie going down. Thank God I don't listen or follow them for their predictions. This prosecution reeks of politics. If this disgusting woman wasn't going to head up this commission, Perry would have voted for the funding. It is that plain and simple. This is a total waste of taxpayer's money.

pssst - your true colors are showing, Roulette boy....
Well when melonhead gets soundly beat he resorts to repeating himself. He can't acknowledge the real meaning of what happened but parrots the liberal distortion. It shows me when you peel the layers away on him there is absolutely nothing.

Ok, I'll bite. Let's recap this pathetic attempt by roulette boy to defend possible criminal behavior by a (gasp!) Republican governor:

1. Roulette boy's first post in the thread parrots a blatant lie that the right wing is using as red meat to fire up the base for the fall elections.

2. When called out on this falsehood, he doubles down with another lie about me. Then the deflection by attacking me begins: He backhandedly calls me a nazi because he doesn't have the balls to actually say it. Then attacks me as a simpleton.

Still hasn't owned up to the original whopping lie....

3. When I correct a false statement that I made about the prosecutor, it's not enough for roulette boy - he continues his personal attacks, this time calling me old, stupid, and senile.

Still hasn't owned up to the original whopping lie.....

4. A couple more lies posted, another attack on me as "insincere and a shill for the liberal cause."

Still hasn't owned up to the original whopping lie.....

5. Pathetic whining because the prosecutor is respected by leaders from both parties, then another attack on me as a "disingenuous senile old man."

Still hasn't owned up to the original whopping lie....

6. Roulette boy "apologizes" with another snide and juvenile personal attack.

Still hasn't owned up to the original whopping lie.....

7. Roulette boy claims victory!

Still hasn't owned up to the original whopping lie.....

I enjoy watching the melon get taken out to the woodshed multiple times in the same thread. Perhaps he needs to work on his "ethics" a little more?

His argument got throroughly trashed but yet he chooses to be a child and foolishly try to revise what happened.
