As you know, this isn't a court of law and Sterling will never be sent to jail for his offensive words. He owns a franchise, and as such he can and should be penalized under league rules. I like the decision by the league.
From what I understand, there are substantial tax advantages on passing the team directly to his kids and not selling while he is still alive. If that is true and the league decides to force a sale, I believe that Sterling will tie things up in court until he dies. There's also the possibility that the franchise becomes such a mess, that it's in financial best interest to liquidate while he's still standing.
