Anyone visit the SLS Hotel?

Just wondering if anyone has checked out the SLS casino yet.

According to VPfree2 website they seemed to have some decent VP machines in the casino. Especially for the strip:

The most recent LVA edition says many postive things. Perhaps the most noteworthy is management's philosophy that low prices and good gaming will be a big part of the strategy to lure guests.

The buffet is getting high marks for quality...although its predominantly Asian food...and it is not cheap. Over $30. How many eggrolls do you need to eat to get your money's worth?

I want to check out the Center Bar.

GOOD LORD! Orwell was right!

I received an offer in the mail from them yesterday for 3 free nights and $150 codeplay (whatever that is). They also said they'd match any offer I'd receive from another Vegas hotel, thru the end of October.

There are a lot of bad reviews on Yelp. Not sure I'd stay there, but I definitely will take a monorail ride down to check it out.

I was thinking of maybe trying to double book an offer in October and take advantage of their matching promo of $500 freeplay, which I also have at Paris.

I tend to cut places alot of slack when they first open but this seems unusually bad. Lots of waiting at the checkin desk...lots of uncleaned rooms...lots of complaints about cheap room furnishings.

Yeah, the reviews aren't great and then every once in awhile there's a 5 star review. It makes you wonder if the 5 star reviews are planted to make them look good.

Go in October, since they should have problems ironed out by then.

Having said that, the statue guy at the entrance...creepy! What were they thinking?LOL.

That's what I was thinking! I think we have a weekend in October, where Paris is offering me $500 and hubby $250. If SLS throws in another $500 and I use my diamond or 7* trip for the plane tickets it will be worth it.
