It's a caricature of the CEO Sam Nazarian.

He looks like The Shmoo.

He looks like The Shmoo.

And he's related to the Hamburger Helper guy.

Checked it out yesterday. Went from Wynn to SLS. Like going from the light to dark literally. Parking access is easy and good from the Strip. However signage in the garage is sparse and confusing.

Casino is very dark and sort of industrial chic. Floor people wear red plaid sports jackets. Thought about trYing the buffet but turned aff by $36.99 price. Believe it's same price as Wynn dinner buffet. Really?

Used ladies room on 2nd level near buffet, black ceilings with white writings all over, dark grey floors, countertops etc. yuck.

Did not check out slot club as we saw nothing to warrant a return visit.

Wish them luck.
I booked their offer for October, won't be staying in the room, but will run up and take a look at it. The reviews on yelp aren't getting any better.

The offer was for 3 comped nights and $150 Codeplay, OR I can bring in any other offer and they will match it. They will only take mailed offers (no internet). I have an internet offer from Paris for $750 freeplay, so I'm hoping the mailer will come soon, otherwise I just received an offer from Paris for $350 freeplay and $350 resort wide credit. The reservation agent said I can use the $350 resort credit towards the restaurants and will also get the $350 freeplay.

I stopped by this past weekend. I was not overly impressed. I was glad to see Katsuya which is a great sushi restaurant I have been to many times in Hollywood CA. Although when I went there it was closed. Said they closed at 11pm. In fact all the restaurants other than pizza place and the cafe are closed at 11pm. For a casino that just opened I would expect there to be more late night dinner available. So we left and ate else where.

For the casino being closed for years and the remodel having all the hype around it I was expecting more. Expecting something I haven't seen before. The pic above of the bar (digital image thing) was cool but that was about where the "New stuff I have never seen before" ended. It is not bad but I expected better.
Madcat and I visited last week as well. I think a lot that has been said is correct. It is nice and new looking but nothing makes you want to stay and play. The restaurants look pretty good though but are not offering any great happy hour prices or any other special deals. They need to draw people in to the location and they aren't really doing that right now. I'd give this remodel a 7 out of 10, I'd give the Cromwell a 9.5 out of 10. CET got it right, SLS didn't.
I think they did a great job with the casino remodel. Nothing reminded me of the Sahara and they packed a lot into the space without it feeling too cramped.
