Are There ANY Good Movies That You've Seen?

Re: TV shows

If you like a lot of blood and gore, then Game of Thrones and The Borgias are the shows for you. I enjoy both shows, but have to turn away from the worst/bloodiest scenes.

I'm counting the minutes till my 2 favs come back... Dexter and Shameless. I'd rather watch them than any movie playing
Breaking Bad -- July 15 10pm
Hatfields and McCoys is on The History Channel this week.

It's 'bout some Appalachian folks what got riled up at one 'tother and started inta' shootin' and knifin' and general assassinatin' and such. Great family entertainment!

This is the Hatfield Men of West Virginny 'round 1897:

Now, them McCoys, bein' outta Kentucky, wasn't so well off as them Hatfields, so's there no pitchers of 'em 'till sometime in the 20th Century. Looks like t'weren't so many by then:

But NOW ! Why ever'thin's jest fine. They's doin' the Dinner Show down t' Pigeon Forge in Tennessee:

BERNIE! Best movie all year.
Also saw Avengers which was fun but fluff (kind of a turn-your-brain-off movie). Scarlett Johannsen can't act, but who cares.

I also recommend Moneyball and The Avengers.

With The Avengers, I'm incapable of offering a completely unbiased recommendation, because of a nostalgic attachment to the source material. But I will say that the self-referential humor in Joss Whedon's dialogue elevates this film above the standard CGI freak show.

I am an enthusiastic, passionate, lifelong movie fan, and mostly watch films via ROKU and cable. I rarely go to movie theaters these days, although I'm sure I will always enjoy the experience. But to your point, I am disheartened by the quality of films represented by the onslaught of bombastic trailers I saw on my last trip to the theater. Comparing something like The Expendables 2 to real cinema is like comparing beer pong to table tennis.

On the other hand, I anxiously await the June 8th arrival of Prometheus.

We are in agreement on this.
