Stay in the north tower and not the south. The rooms are night and day different.
We've stayed there several times. A great location for the price. We've stayed in both towers and can't say that I noticed much difference between the rooms, but then we just used it to sleep.

I'm a slot player - found them kind of tight - so can't speak about the table games.
The rooms are okay. Preferred to play at other casinos.

I stayed as a guest of someone in the North Tower. Perhaps he was comped a more deluxe room. It had turn down service and the little chocolates on the pillow. The decor was nice and the room was very pleasant.

This was about 9 or 10 years ago.

About 12 years ago I stayed at Ballys as part of a bachelor party for a friend who was getting married. I stayed in the South tower. When I got off the elevator, I turned to the left and everybody else had rooms to the right. The room was larger than usual and had a small refrigerator that didn't work. Everything looked old and worn. I later discovered that the headboard of my bed was against the wall that had the elevators on the other side. Any time an elevator went up or down, It vibrated and made noise. It was one of my worst rooms I've ever stayed in.
I've always disliked Bally's from the moment I first stepped into the place. When the place first opened, I sat down at a BJ table and asked for $100 in $5 chips. They refused to give them to me. well I lost that hundred and $200 more. I then went to the cage and bought $100 in $5 chips. I was lucky enough to win back all my money and I quickly cashed in. I was forced to play there again when my best friend came to town and stayed at Bally's. We sat down at a bank of sit down slot machines and I got a kick out of my friend playing the machines. Before he hit the spin button, he would rub the machine and say, "C'mon baby...you feed me and I'll feed you!" He seemed to have nothing but luck on those machines. I sat near him and tried doing the same thing. FINALLY, I hit a small jackpot to get me even. Next time I played there was when another close boyhood friend came in from Jersey and was staying there. Wound up playing with Faye at the bar machines (VP) and luckily cashed out almost even when my friend showed up after dinner. Unfortunately, both these friends are dead now so I won't ever have to play there again!

I like Bally's. Their north tower rooms are very nice and it's a great location. Their pool is great in the summer as it has a 12' deep end perfect for actual swimming.
I have stayed in the North towers rooms they are decent and large. The staff has always been friendly. I have to admit my perception might be colored by my $4,000 slot win on a 40 cent bet last year.

I do like Harrahs better but I am a low roller and I don't need much luxury.
Damn Bags. You have a story for every thread!
Lol
I like Ballys. Great location. Love the Party Pit.
There are lots of nice rooms and lots of crappy ones. Ask for an upgrade when you check in.

Good luck and have fun.
