No, that's Oklahoma.

Oklahoma (#33) is also just OK.

Up heh' in Appalachia folks think of Oklahomans as sorta distant cousins.

Must be lots of Republicans in Detroit!

Can you imagine how bad Michigan would be without the Republicans? Heck, it would be like Illinois!

Illinois > 8 Billion behind in Paying the bills - no money to pay them

Apparently, there is a proposal to rename Illinois from the "Land of Lincoln" to the "Land of Obama" so people know what a corrupt and debt filled state they are dealing with. We no longer deserve the name "Land of Lincoln". Heck he was a Republican and there are apparently none left in the State.

Taxing retirees pensions.Cutting the earned income tax credit for the poor.
Red states do an excellent job of balancing their budgets with Blue State tax dollars that get distributed to them from the federal government. All 5 states the good doctor mentions get more money from the federal government than they put into it. I think they have that "welfare mentality" DrMilled was lecturing about in the other thread.

Politifact

Next time you see a road built in Mississippi be sure to thank a taxpayer in California.

I love New Mexico but not surprising.

Michigan ranks 29th out of 50 states for highest state and local tax burden per capita

Michigan ranks 33rd for state individual income tax collection per capita at $647.00 [Highest is New York at $1864.00 , California is $1346.00 ]

Michigan ranks 35th for state and local individual tax collection per capita at $594.00

When you look at the actual numbers, that Republican Governor is actually Not attacking the poor and middle class, is he ?

DonDiego is most happy to see pretty much all of Appalachia gets this munificent benefit from the Federal Government.
DonDiego thanks Californians, . . . and other Liberal Chumps.

[n.b. The data in pjstroh's chart is 8 years old; DonDiego sure hopes he's getting more now.]

the liberal chumps like to keep Americans afloat.Even crusty old Republicans.
