How about a compromise? You take Kiffen back and no other Californians move there?
can we do whatever we want to with Coach Dream Job when he gets here (torture, dismemberment), or do we have to let him coach football? Our menfolk would want Layla to come here too.

Sorry you don't get Layla. You can do what you want with him. I would say that USC will not book Tennessee as a non-conference opponent due to Kiffen, but I don't think Kiffen will last 6 to 10 years with USC.

Stay the hell out of Oregon

We've got assisted suicide and more "medical" marijuana than we no what to do with.

No sales tax, and we're not allowed to pump our own gas.

We're due for an huge earthquake.

I didn't see Oregon on the list
I'm actually surprised that Nevada isn't on the list?

Nevada has:

No state income tax
Relatively low real estate costs
Desert climate for people who have health problems
Relatively low cost of living
I'm with Karen, TN is a great place to live. After living in 5 different states with the Navy and jobs, I've been here 30 years and have no desire to go anywhere else. Of course I favor Nashville over Karen's Memphis, but than I like hills and lots of trees. Left CA a long time ago (I'm 2nd generation and my wife "the valley girl" is 3rd generation) and neither one of us ever want to go back for a visit. WA was nice, but way to far to the left for us. TX was fun, but not enough green. VA was OK. FL sucked.

Yes, I'm just trying to make sure it stays that way

I gotta a say Va. is definitely not a bad place to live. The weather is pretty nice over all, the humidity can get pretty oppressive at times, but generally winters aren't too bad and the summers can get kinda hot but it's all pretty comfy. The mountains are only a coupla hours away to the west and the water is even closer, except for the ocean and that's only about 5-6 hours.

For our retirement purposes tho, we plan on living on a boat. The grand plan is to start out doing the 'great loop', which (for our location) is putting in on the ches. bay somewhere, cross the C&D canal, up the coast past NY, hit the Hudson, thru the great lakes to Chicago then gead south to the Gulf. Then over to Fla. and back up the ICW to the bay and cross your wake where you put in. This all takes a year or more, it all depends where all you want to go and how muich time you want to spend everywhere. There's thousands and thousands of miles that are all navigable, it's all up to you. Google great loop, tons of links, but I gave the the basic route.

Might all be a pipe dream with health issues, but I think it's possible.

JOHN

..And it's an awesome dream and a great goal to try and get to.
