Blue screen of death

Dear Poindexter, I have an HP pavillion(win 7), it's only a coupla yrs old and I've gotten blue screened a few times and have been running in safe mode w/networking for past few days. My mouse and/or computer freezes if I start in normal mode, I've tried to go back to an earlier start date to no avail. Is it hopeless Poindexter or do I need to go computer shopping?

Sincerely, froze out in Va.
did anything happen right before the bsod? install new software or visit strange porn sites or did you move the tower?
Backup any of your important files. Reinstall windows.

That sounded dirty, the part about visiting porn sites and moving your tower.

It's usually not a Windows problem, but rather a driver from a third party. Run System Restore, and roll it back to a date earlier than when these problems started.

Unfortunately, I think he said he already tried that. "I've tried to go back to an earlier start date to no avail."
Could just be dirty tower. Open it up and spray it out with Dust-Off.

Have you tried prayer?
Try deleting all the porn off your hard drive.
Did you just install a new program or a piece of hardware, update a driver, install an update, etc.? If so, there's a very good chance that the change you made caused the BSOD.

Undo the change you made.

3.Scan your computer for viruses. Some viruses can cause a Blue Screen of Death, especially ones that infect the master boot record (MBR) or boot sector.

Or call the GEEK SQUAD.
