Can someone 'splain to poor, young pjstroh how detained illegal immigrants counts as evidence the border patrol is NOT doing its job? It would seem to me that evidence would draw the exact opposite conclusion.
Did pjstroh even read the article which DonDiego linked?
The article is mostly about the recent influx of unaccompanied children.
The last paragraph is about families:
"The government has also been flying families from South Texas to Arizona and El Paso, Texas, and releasing them at bus stations. ICE has only one detention facility for families — an 85-bed center in Pennsylvania."
[pjstroh, please note: "releasing them at bus stations".]
Beyond this article, recently "The Government" has been sending newly illegal immigrants to Arizona and West Texas and releasing them, . . . sometimes giving them a card which says they must turn themselves in in 30 days, sometimes with nothing but the statement:"you are free to go".
DonDiego notes in passing, no one has answered his question: ". . . how 'zactly is this gonna turn out well?"
__If the answer is "It Isn't", then one agrees with DonDiego, so why the argumentative tone?
__If the answer is "It'll be fine, 'splain how, please."
***EDITED TO ADD***
"At issue is Mr. Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which in 2012 allowed some undocumented immigrants who came to America as minors to defer deportation for two years. Last week, the administration announced guidelines for how these immigrants could defer deportation for a further two years."
Hmm, . . . apparently actions, . . . even just Executive Actions, . . . have consequences.

n.b. This article addresses the issue's possible political consequences, . . .but nonethless describes the problem.
Oh, and now The Obama is proposing the the Federal Government supply lawyers to illegals to fight their deportation. The world turned upside down.
n.b. DonDiego intentionally omitted any reference; one can Google it, if it matters to one.
