Well Labor Day has come and gone....and it's about time. I don't know how many of you live in a vacation destination like San Diego, but it really sucks when the tourists hit town.
Roads get clogged with people coming and going, and half of them slow down since they don't know where they're going to begin with. And this is in the age of "GPS" which tells you where to go!
If you spend a lot of time on the roads and freeways like I do, it's really a blessing when Labor Day comes around and it's time for the tourists to go home. I'd bitch about the beaches, but this isn't New Jersey where there is limited space, and people are packed in like sardines on the beaches. Fortunately, Calif. has miles and miles of beaches, and there's plenty of room for everyone. You can have your dogs, volleyball, frisbee and anything else and you aren't going to get in anyones way.
But when it comes to Thursday afternoon, the freeways are clogged with people coming to San Diego. And this isn't an easy trip if you're coming down from LA. 3 hours isn't unheard of to make the trip. I thought if Las Vegas was smart, they'd put up a sign in Orange County saying, "For the time it's going to take to go to San Diego, wouldn't you really want to be in Vegas?
Thankfully, all the tourists have gone home and things will get back to normal.
