Carol Burnett

Did anyone else catch the show on PBS about Carol Burnett?

It brought back a lot of good memories for me.
I only caught a coupla minutes of it,I plan on catching it next time it's on for sure (kinda lucky here in DC metro area, we have four diff PBS stations so there's always multiple showings).
I have really great memorys of me and my mom watching that show togother when I was a kid. She had so many great talents and those surronuding her of course was what made the show all come togother, I mean who couldn't contagiously start cracking up when Harvey Korman would be losing it when Tim Conway was being hysterical.

There were so many great characters on the show as whole it'd be tough to pick a best

But if I had to pick the one that cracked me up the most would have to be Mr tudball and mis-sis-ha-wiggns.

You scared me. With all of the celebrity deaths (including Jonathan Winters) I thought maybe Carol Burnett had passed away. She was the Grand Marshall of the Rose Parade in the 90's. I also had the opportunity to meet Lyle Wagoner at one event.
The interesting thing I found out from the program was that Tim Conway wasn't a regular over the 11 years of the Carol Burnett variety show. She said he was only on about once a month at first before they realized, why wasn't he a regular.

It also says that Tim would try to crack Harvey up in every skit they had together.

I also have fond memories of Saturday nights with the family and popcorn while watching the show.

From what I can gather, she's now 80 years old.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family of Carol Burnett. Thank you for all of the laughs.

RIP
The take-off on Gone With the Wind, Carol coming down stairs dressed in the green velvet draperies, fringe, the curtain rod for shoulder pads.
I remember her in the special "the Princess and the Pea". OMG I laughed so hard! We watched her regular show every week and were very sad when it left the air. k
I too have great memories of my whole family watching the Carol Burnett Show together.
I am also lucky enough to be friends with Al Shultz, Executive head of makeup at CBS during the time of the Carol Burnett show. He is also Vicki Lawrence's husband. They tell a lot of very funny behind the scenes stories about the show. It seems that it was always about having fun making the show.
Vicki said keeping a straight face while Carol Burnett was ad libing her lines as "Eunice" in the family skits was always a challenge. She also said they kept the writers crazy with their constant ad libs even in rehersals.
Once of the few variety shows that I truly enjoyed. I don't know how they kept from laughing all the time. They just all seemed to mesh well together none of this petty dickering so many of the star nowadays seem to do. I Would love to see it come back in re runs.
Comedy does not need dirty words to be funny. She and her cast created the funniest skits that have ever been on TV. Thanks for the heads up about the PBS show. We also enjoyed the PBS show on Elvis that featured his gospel music.
