Cashiers Check

While I think you could still cancel a cashier's check if it became lost or stolen, I would think that it would be much easier to have a traveler's check or to arrange for a wire transfer to casino. You may get hit with a wire fee.

If you run a line of credit, the casino is going to be much more interested in what the average balance of your checking or savings account has been, than your actual credit history.
will the casino cash a personal check? that might be easiest.
Does your bank have a branch in Vegas?

By the way, you can cash a personal check at Harrahs for any amount (that funds are available) and no need to set up account in advance.

This seems to be the winning answer.
Why are other options still being thrown our there?
No fees, your bank, your personal check.

Then he could just get a Cashier's Check at his home bank and cash it at his Vegas branch....Problem solved!

Um, he could get the cashier's check at the Vegas branch of his bank and then cash it right there. That is one less bank trip.

Too bad the Casinos don't issue cashier's checks.

This is fourth or fifth time a thread like this has played out exactly as this one has. I must be on everyone's ignore list. Lol

Why not get the cashier's check at your home bank, fold it, put it in your shoe, unfold it in Vegas, and cash it at the bank in Vegas?

If a casino will cash a personal check, with no limit other than what funds are in the account, then I have to agree with this method. I would assume that the banking institution will need to be called up to verify sufficient funds and that some type of hold is placed on those funds for the check that is written, or that there is some instantaneous way that the account holder is debited immediately.
