Chairs at the pools

I got home last week stayed at Harrahs ,terrible customer service, anyway there were few reg. chairs around the pool, all the others were Reserved. The woman next to me said the ones that are reserved cost $25 a day. I was wondering are all the pools like that. Thanks for any info
I do not know why THAT pool would do such a thing. Its probably the worst pool on the strip except Casino Royales. Its small, shaded, and populated by pasty skin, midwest mid 50'ish cornfed women(ie not good for eye candy).

Anyway, I've recently stayed at Golden Nugget where there is no such rule...a few beds or whatever are for pay, but most of the lounges are open game.

Stayed at Mandalay Bay last weekend and same thing...everything except cabanas is free.

I've found the overcrowding at pools issue to be highly overblown. Yes if you bring a group of six down to the pool area of any major Vegas hotel at noon on a Saturday, it will be impossible to find accomodations. Well duh.

But more commonly, people are just afraid to toss aside the towels that the previous occupants left there and just assume the lounges are taken. My rule at Vegas pools is that if there are two lounges side by side with no personal items on them, its fair game and the occupants have left.
I agree - just got back from Bally's and did just that. People don't even remove their towels when they leave - so I do it for them.

Bally's is my favourite pool - there are lots of lounges, the pool is 12 feet deep. Lovely and warm with 3 life guards on duty.
Planet Hollywood does the same thing, limit the free chairs in order to get people to pay for chairs. New source of pool revenue I guess. How long until there's a pool fee?

And how long after that before "geniuses" right here defend it and ridicule those who complain about it?

At Bellagio I found no empty lounges by the pool. Either they were occupied or had a towel on them.
There was a special area where you could reserve a lounge chair for the day,
which I think also provided water, and cool towels for you.
The cost was $50 Mon–Thur, $75 Fri and Sun, $100 Sat, $125 Holidays.

I tipped a pool guy $5 for him to locate two "towel occupied" chairs, remove the towels, and move them side by side in the sun.

Rick
Normally see people at break of dawn run out and toss their crap on several chairs that they never show up for. Seen many guest toss that crap and plop down.
Last time I was at a casino pool was at GVR. Had a great time then she came with a $1500 tab....lol.
