Coke / Pepsi

I'll drink either Coke or Pepsi, and even drink the regular supermarket brand .......... whatever, ....... It's No Big Deal to me,

... but some people have a very strict preference.

If you will only drink one over the other, which is it, ....... and more importantly why ?

I used to be a Diet Coke drinker and could not stand Diet Pepsi. It always tasted like too much syrup and not enough fizz.
I now drink Gatorade Fruit Punch or water.

or Coors Light
I like the fun and contemporary image Pepsi likes to portray.

However, I like the taste of Coke better since it is less sweet.
Many many years ago, I got so drunk on coke and booze, that I can't drink coke any more. It was so bad, I had the shakes all day the following day. I only have a few Heinekens in Vegas, and will only drink at night. I don't drink at home or go to bars. I'll drink diet Pepsi or diet Dr Pepper, will never ever drink a coke, I get flashbacks.

I'm a Coke person, specifically Coke Zero - tastes like real Coke without any diet aftertaste.

I'll drink other colas if Coke isn't available. Personally, I find Pepsi products too sweet.

Me too to all this....

I used to be strictly Coke until I bought a case of the stuff imported from Mexico with real sugar. Now the American Coke tastes like crap to me. But, if I'm going to spend extra money to buy the stuff with sugar I might as well buy Red Bull instead. I usually buy Dr. Pepper or the generic equivalent if I'm in the mood for soda. I also like Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash but its only available at Christmas.

I'm a Pepsi guy and the real sugar one is much better than the corn syrup one. However, I do drink coke from time to time.

Booze goes much better with coke.

That may be why I don't drink much coke anymore, I stopped drinking booze.
I drink mainly water, however, when I want something sweet I will then drink

a diet "zero" coke.

I've been a Pepsi drinker for a long time. For a while, Pepsi came out with Pepsi Twist...which was Pepsi with a squeeze of lemon. The it disappeared off the shelves and was replaced by Diet Pepsi Lime. Twister was also Diet Pepsi. Then they brought Twister back for one of the Super Bowls about 3 years ago. Then it disappeared again. But DP Lime continued to stay on the shelves, and was getting more shelf space...meaning they were selling more of it! As a matter of fact, Diet Coke came out with their own version of Lime.

All of a sudden, DP with Lime disappeared again. Yet DC/Lime continued to flourish on the grocery shelves. I never understood this. Now I'm FORCED to drink DC/Lime because I have no other choice other than to buy DP and squeeze some lime into it....which I've done many times! Maybe they'll bring it back for the Super Bowl again!

But one thing has happened to Pepsi, and I can see the reason they brought this product to the market. That's Pepsi Throwback! It's made with real sugar and not that high fructose crap! I'm sure California had a lot to do with this product hitting the market. Out here, it is very easy to get Mexican Pepsi or Coke, which are both made the "old fashion" way using sugar instead of HFCS. People would go over the border and grab cases of these products since it was made with sugar. After local liquor stores started carrying both products, COSTCO got into the act and started "importing" both sugar products. It was Pepsi and Coke the way it used to be made. And boy! could you tell the difference. Even being a type 2 diabetic, I can't resist the opportunity of having one or the other once in a while. I don't know if you see it on the shelves of your local supermarket if you live in the mid-west or east, but you should start demanding it as both companies offer it to the public...at least out here. Try it you'll like it!!! If you hunger for the days of "real" Pepsi or Coke, just one swig will take you back 40 years!
