Computer nerd help!

Man! I really should've learned about this stuff long ago but unfortunately that's not the case.

The problem: I keep getting a "no signal" on my screen when booting up, it will light up and seem ok then 'poof' get the no signal again. I can finally get everything running in safe mode but get this,I have to physically unplug all power from the wall outlet. Simply turning off the PC and back on doesn't cut it. bought a new(to me, but I know for a fact it runs fine) PC, nope, didn't work, same thing. Off to buy a new monitor thought for sure this would do it, nope same thing "no signal" after a mhalf a minute.

I unplugged EVERYTHING and only plugged PC and moniter into the wall, no peripherals at all hooked up, not even web. "no signal"!!! GRRRRRRRRR, I've switched from old to new everything and finally got back up in safe mode with old PC and new monitor. Any recommendations?

I'd guess it's the video cable, video card (or processor) in your PC, or the video input connector on you pc. Repair shops can diagnose this easily, since they can simply switch out parts to determine which one is bad.
Do you have "Geek Squad" where you live.

They make house calls.

But I have a new PC(well new to me, but know it woks fine)and monitor, got same thing when I started. Maybe it's a poltergeist or something, perhaps I should call ghostbusters 'cause it sure is strange.

Rick, I have a geek squad friend who I texted last night about it, unfortunately he's in Tx. right now but was still dumbfounded as well. He won't be back til Sat.

Forkie, should have mentioned I got new cable.

The only common denominator is the wall outlet and I can't see how that could possibly have anything to do with it.
Blow the dust out of it.
not sure, sounds like you have 2 pc's? One is new? if so you should be able to take the new one back to the store to check. the "no signal" that you see on the monitor means that the pc isn't booting up.

One other suggestion to do first, take your pc and monitor elsewhere (someone's house, work, etc) to at least try to get it to boot up successfully. first you have to identify the problem, it could even be that you have electrical problems in your house so you first have to identify if it's a problem with the pc's or monitor, and then work from there.
Thx all, still working in safe mode for now. I've tried switching old PC/new mon. to old mon./new PC to etc etc. The only common denominator is the outlet, gonna run an extension cord and see. Maybe, or just be lazy and wait til my geek squad friend gets home. But I really do appreciate the help/opinions from ya'll.

Snidely, I did try to blow it out, but I ended up choking
Are you saying that if you move the pc and monitor to another outlet, it works normally?

Since you're too chicken to blow the dust out of it, it sounds like it's not launching into Windows properly. It might be beyond your scope to fix this but it's easily fixed by a properly educated, trained, or experienced geek.
